문화예술교육 프로그램이 아동·청소년의 자기효능감에 미치는 영향 연구

국문 초록

문화예술교육이 아동·청소년에게 인지적, 정서적, 사회적 등의 측면에서 긍정적인 영향을 미친다는 선행연구를 근거로 본 연구는 문화예술교육 프로그램이 아동·청소년의 자기효능감에 미치는 영향을 일반적 자기효능감 척도를 사용하여 실증적으로 검증하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 최근 문화체육관광부의 주요 문화예술교육 대표사업으로 활발하게 진행 중인 한국형 엘 시스테마인 ｢소외 아동·청소년 오케스트라교육 지원사업(‘꿈의 오케스트라’ 프로그램)｣을 선정하였으며, 2011년 11월부터 2012년 1월까지 약 3개월간의 프로그램에 참여한 전국 3개 지역 아동·청소년 97명을 대상으로 사전ㆍ사후 설문조사를 실시하여 최종적으로 총 81부가 분석에 사용되었다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 참여 아동·청소년을 대상으로 한 사전·사후 설문조사 결과 ‘일반적 자기효능감’에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다 (p < .001). 3개 하위요인인 자신감, 자기조절효능감, 과제난이도선호 모두에서 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타났으나, 특히 자기조절효능감의 요인이 가장 많이 증진된 것으로 조사되었다. 둘째, 참여 아동·청소년의 문화예술교육 경험유무 및 경험기간에 따른 사전·사후 자기효능감에는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않아 상관관계에 대한 후속 연구가 필요할 것으로 보인다. 셋째, ‘꿈의 오케스트라’ 프로그램 참여 후 아동·청소년은 재참가 의사, 문화예술 관심도, 사회성 요인에 가장 긍정적인 영향을 받았다고 인식하였다. 한편 참여 예술강사들은 프로그램이 참여 아동·청소년의 문화적 경험 제공, 예술적 표현 및 실기 능력 및 문화예술 관심도에 가장 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다고 인식하는 것으로 조사되었다. 이와 같이 문화예술교육 프로그램은 아동·청소년의 자기효능감에 차이를 가져올 수 있는 중요한 변수임이 확인되었다.

영문 초록

According to precedent studies verifying the positive effects of arts education on children in cognitive, emotional and social aspects, this quantitative study examined the effects of arts education program on children’s self-efficacy. To carry out this study, an arts education program ‘Orchestras-of-Dreams’, inspired by the El Sistema program of Venezuela and supported by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, was selected. A pre-test and post-test was conducted on 97 children from 3 different regional areas in Korea, who participated in the 3 month program from November 2011 to January 2012 and a total of 81 valid questionnaires were used in the analysis. The results of this study are as follows: First, according to the pre-test and post-test results, there was a significant difference in General Self-Efficacy scores of the program participants. Also a significant difference was found in the self-confidence, self-regulated efficacy and the attitude of content-difficulty factors, but the self-regulated efficacy factor was found to have improved the most. Second, there was no significant difference in General Self-Efficacy scores of the participants depending on their previous backgrounds of arts education experiences and experience periods. Third, through the ‘Orchestras-of-Dreams’ program, participants replied they thought that their intentions in articipating again, interest in cultural arts and their social abilities improved. On the other hand, arts educators replied they thought that the program had positive effects on the participants by providing a cultural experience, improving artistic expressions and practical abilities and improving interest in cultural arts. Thus, this study implies that an arts education program can be a significant variable in bringing positive effects on children’s self-efficacy.
