국문 초록

본 연구는 소집단 토의활동이 유아의 비판적 사고에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 2013년 4월부터 6월까지 진행하였고, 연구대상은 경북 구미시에 소재한 D유치원의 만 5세 두 학급의 유아 50명을 대상(실험집단 25명, 통제집단 25명)이였으며, 자료 분석은 선형혼합모형(Linear Mixed model)을 사용하였다. 본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 소집단 토의활동을 경험한 실험집단 유아는 통제집단유아보다 ‘서로 다른 관점 인식하기’에서 의미 있게 향상되었다. 둘째, 소집단 토의활동을 경험한 실험집단과 통제집단 유아 모두 ‘생각을 검증하기’에서는 사전검사와 사후검사의 점수에 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 셋째, 소집단 토의활동을 경험한 실험집단 유아는 통제집단 유아보다 판단하여 이유 말하기 에서 의미 있게 향상되었다. 넷째, 소집단 토의활동을 경험한 실험집단과 통제집단 유아 모두 ‘결과 예측하기’에서는 사전검사와 사후검사의 점수에 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. 다섯째, 소집단 토의활동을 경험한 실험집단과 통제집단 유아 모두 ‘타인에게 적용한 기준을 나에게 적용해 보기’에서는 사전검사와 사후검사의 점수에 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다.

영문 초록

This study aims to discover how small group discussion activity affects the critical thinking of infants. In order to achieve this purpose, the study set up the following research questions. For research subjects, there were 25 infants in an experimental group and 25 infants in a control group. As a test tool used for proving this study, the study used a “critical thinking test tool” created by Kim Hyeong-gyeong (2002) in order to discover the level of critical thinking of infants. This study proceeded in the order of preliminary test, pre-test, experimental treatment, and post-test. For data analysis, the study conducted a linear mixed model analysis using the SAS 9.2 program, and applied the interactions between groups, time, and groups and time with a fixed condition. Then the study applied a non-structural variance covariance matrix while taking time as a repetitive condition. The results of this study include the following. Among the critical thinking functions, recognition of different perspectives, talking about the reason by determination showed statistically significant differences. Meanwhile there was no statistically significant difference in the results for proof of thinking and forecasting of results, applying standards applied to others to me. In conclusion, small group discussion activity has an effect on the critical thinking of infants.
