영문 초록

Basel Ⅱ has positioned the international capital adequacy of insurers and securities companies as well as banks. The revised framework of Basel consists of three pillars; the first pillar-minimum capital requirements, the second pillar-supervisory review process, the third pillar-market discipline through disclosure. The purpose of disclosure is to complement the pillar 1 and pillar 2. Other international supervisory committees and International Financial Reporting Standard require a set of disclosure which will allow market participants to assess information on capital, risk exposures, risk assessment processes, and hence the capital adequacy of the financial institution. In principle, Financial statements present the financial position, financial performance and cash flow of an entity. Fair presentation requires the faithful representation of the effects of transaction, other events and conditions in accordance with the definitions and recognition criteria for assets, liabilities, income and expenses set out in the new framework. Actually global banks and large European insurers disclose relevant information under supervisory or accounting requirements through annual report.
