아스퍼거 아동의 정서적 맥락 이해 결함

국문 초록

본 연구는 아스퍼거 아동의 정서적 맥락 이해 결함을 살펴보기 위하여 정서차원(기본정서․복합정서)과 맥락유형(상황․바람․틀린믿음)에 따른 수행능력의 차이를 조사하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 초등학교 2, 3학년 아스퍼거 아동 10명과 일반아동 10명에게 짧은 이야기를 들려주고 주인공의 정서를 주어진 보기에서 선택하게 하는 과제를 실시하였다. 연구 결과 집단, 정서차원의 주효과 및 집단, 정서차원, 맥락유형의 상호작용 효과가 발견되었다. 이는 아스퍼거 아동이 일반아동에 비해 정서적 맥락을 이해하는 능력이 저조하며 정서차원과 맥락유형에 따라서 수행차이가 있음을 의미한다. 즉, 아스퍼거 아동은 맥락 수준의 기본정서 이해에서는 일반아동과 비슷한 수준이었으나, 보다 상위표상을 요하는 복합정서 과제에서는 낮은 수행력을 보였다. 단, 기본정서 과제에서도 틀린믿음의 맥락 단서를 통합하여 정서를 파악해야 하는 경우에는 어려움을 보였다. 이러한 결과는 아스퍼거 아동의 맥락과 복합정서 이해 결함을 고려하여 정서이해와 관련된 사회적 의사소통능력을 중재하는 것이 효과적일 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

In the present study, we investigated the defect of comprehension emotional contexts in children with Asperger’s disorder depending on emotional dimensions(basic emotion/complex mental states) and contextual types(situation/desire/false belief). Ten children with Asperger’s disorder(AD) and the same number of typically developing children(age, IQ and language-matched; TD) participated in this study. All Twenty children were second to third graders in elementary schools. For the emotional context task, the children listened to lists of a short story which included emotion of a character. And then, the children were asked to choose a word the most appropriate emotional state of character. A three-way ANOVA of group(2) x emotional dimension(2) x contextual type(3) revealed significant main effects of group, emotional dimension and contextual type. And significant interaction effects of group, emotional dimension and contextual type. The total number of correct responses was significantly lower in children with AD relative to TD, but understanding basic emotional dimension. Though it was a basic emotion task, however, AD had difficulty in grasping emotional clues of false belief context. These results suggested that complex mental states and contextual types will be worth consideration when evaluating and intervening social communication and pragmatics of children with Asperger s disorder.
