영문 초록

Over the past several decades, Korea has observed a sharp decline of increasing rate of population and a big change in the structure of population, accompanied by a decrease in population of adolescents as well as the school age population. Among various aspects those have been followed by these phenomena the present study tried to focus on the aspects related to school life and educational environments of adolescents. Results showed that, first and in the regard to the school life of adolescents, the chance of making more intensive relationships between not only teachers and students but also students themselves have been increased, due to the decreased number of students in a class. Second, it was revealed that regarding the contents of education, the necessity of education on the topic of population has been increased, so that the impact of population-education has started recently. Third, it was also found that since the amount of investment in education, publicly as well as privately, has been increased, the quality of education for students has been improved and the pressure for making a good academic performance has also been stronger for adolescents. Last, it was found that due to the increasing number of merging schools, students in the merged school have had various psychological experiences such as emotional unrelatedness to other students, bullying, and loneliness.
