국문 초록

이 연구는 O. F. Bollnow의 교육자의 미덕(‘Pädagogische Tugend’)의 개념을 통해 한 특수교사의 교직에서의 삶을 조망하고자 하였다. 그의 사상은 2008년 장애인 등에 대한 특수교육법 시행으로 특수교육의 질을 향상시키기 위한 변화들과 함께 ‘좋은 특수교사’양성의 필요성과 방법에 대한 논의가 활발해지고 있는 경향과의 연결점이 있다는데 의미가 있다. 또한 그동안 특수교사에게 존재해 왔던 감정적, 정서적 태도가 표준화, 도구화, 조작화, 정형화 등의 틀 속에 가두어져 있음으로 해서 특수교사가 가지고 있었던 미덕을 놓쳤다는 문제의식에서 비롯되었다. 따라서 한 특수교사의 교직에서의 삶을 통해서 특수교육 현장에 존재해 있었지만 구체적으로 밝혀지지 않은 특수교사의 미덕을 현상학적 연구 방법을 통해 살펴보았다. 이 연구에서 도출된 특수교사의 미덕은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 학교 현장에서의 열정에 관한 실존적 고민과 교사로서의 본래성을 추구하고자 하는 교육적 상심이다. 둘째, 자신에게 갚을 가능성이 없는 존재를 이롭게 하는 이타성과, 학생의 장애를 그대로 수용하여 학습의 과정으로 이끌어가는 초월적 마음씀을 동반한 교육적 사랑이다. 셋째, 끊임없는 연구로 장애의 특성에 맞게 교수방법을 수정하는 교수 적합화를 통해, 학생들에게 보다 나은 교육적 도전을 위해 끊임없이 고민하여 실행하는 교육적 판단이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to survey a professional life of a special education teacher with the concepts of‘Pädagogische Tugend’proposed by O. F. Bollnow. As special education laws for persons with disabilities and others have been implemented since 2008, the increasing tendency of an interest in the necessity and method for training good special education teachers as well as the changes for the quality of special education gives significance to Bollnow’s perspective. Also, the fact that an emotional attitude existing inside of a special education teacher had been confined into the frames of the standardization, instrumentalization, operationalization, and normalization obscured the‘Pädagogische Tugend’of a teacher and it comprised another purpose of this study. In this sense, this study is trying to define the ‘Pädagogische Tugend’of a special education teacher that was already existed in the field, but not identified, through phenomenological method. The three main‘Pädagogische Tugend’ concluded from this study are as follows. First, they are devastated in an educational way while having existential concern on their passion in the school field and pursuing their Eigentlichkeit. Second, they have altruistic minds to give benefits to those who do not have any ability to return the benefits back to the teachers. Also, their love accompanies transcendental minds that lead their students to the curriculum by accepting their disability as the way it is. Third, they carry out educational judgement consistently to give students better educational challenges through incessant studies for instructional adaptation to amend it according to their students’disability
