지속가능성장률과 기업의 사회적 책임활동이 과잉투자에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 지속가능성장률, 경영자의 CSR 활동, 배당, 자본투자가 과잉투자에 미치는 영향을 검증하고자 하였다. 아울러 이들 간의 상호작용이 과잉투자에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지도 검증하고자 하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 지속가능성장률은 기업의 과잉투자를 감소시키는데 기여하고 있는 것으로 나타나 경영자가 지속가능성장률을 높이는 의사결정을 하는 경우 투자대안 선택과정에서 수익성이 주요한 요소로 작용하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 둘째, 장기적 시각의 경영활동인 CSR 활동도 기업의 과잉투자를 감소시키는데 기여하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 배당규모가 클수록 기업의 과잉투자가 감소하는 것으로 나타나 배당이 대리인 비용을 줄이는데 기여하고 있는 것으로 보인다. 넷째, 자본투자 규모가 클수록 과잉투자가 발생할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 지속가능성장률이 과잉투자를 줄이는 효과는 CSR 활동을 많이 할수록 증가하는 것으로 나타났다. 여섯째, 지속가능성장률이 과잉투자를 낮추는 효과는 배당을 많이 할수록 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 일곱째, 지속가능성장률이 과잉투자를 낮추는 효과는 자본투자 규모가 클수록 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 CSR 활동이 과잉투자를 줄이는 효과는 자본투자 규모가 클수록 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구의 결과를 토대로 볼 때 과잉투자를 방지하기 위해서는 경영자가 단기적인 이익추구보다는 장기적인 관점의 의사결정 을 할 필요성이 있으며, 투자자들도 경영자의 자본투자의 효과를 유추함에 있어서 지속가능성장률, CSR 활동, 배당, 자본투자 등의 정보를 이용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the influence of the sustainable growth, CSR, dividend, and capital investments on the firm’s over-investment. Through the analysis, we want to find the factors preventing managers from over-investing capital with the long-term oriented decision-making. The results are as follows; First, it showed that the higher sustainable growth rate lowered the firm’s over-investment. Second, the higher the level of CSR activities lowered the firm’s over-investment. Third, the dividend yield of the firm was found to decrease the firm’s over-investment. Fourth, it indicated that the firm’s capital investment positively affected the firm’s over-investment. Fifth, it showed that a negative effect of the sustainable growth rate on the firm’s over-investment increased as the firm’s CSR activities was higher. Sixth, we found that as the firm’s dividend yield increased, the effect of the sustainable growth rate on the firm’s over-investment decreased. Seventh, it showed that a negative effect of the CSR activities on the firm’s over-investment decreased as the firm’s capital investment was higher. the results of this study show that the managers can create the higher financial performance and firm’s value when they makes decisions with a long-term perspective. Furthermore, the results also suggests that the investors can use on sustainable growth rate, CSR activities, dividend yield, and capital investment in inferring the effects of the firm’s capital investment.
