홀리스틱 교육 시각에서 PBL과정 탐색: Y 대학 조리과학 강좌를 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구는 대학의 조리과학 강좌에 PBL을 적용하여 홀리스틱 교육의 시각에서 그 효과를 탐색하고자 하였다. PBL적용의 효과는 홀리스틱 교육의 패러다임인 공동체 상호작용, 전일성, 창의성을 중심으로 탐색하였다. 이를 위해 2015년 2학기 Y 대학교 조리과학 강좌에 PBL을 적용하여 수업을 진행하였고 수강생 65명과 교수 1명이 작성한 성찰일지를 통해 그 효과를 탐색하였다. 성찰일지는 근거이론에 의한 질적 분석을 하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 공동체 상호작용 측면에서 PBL적용 조리과학 강좌 참여과정에서 대학생들은 리더십과 협동기술을 배운 것으로 판단된다. 둘째, 전일성 측면에서 PBL적용 조리과학 강좌 참여는 대학생들은 미래에 대한 인식과 자신감에 영향을 미친 것으로 판단된다. 셋째, 창의성 함양 측면에서 PBL적용 조리과학 강좌 참여는 대학생들의 수업내용이해, 발산적 사고를 통한 문제해결력 함양, 흥미유발에 영향을 미친 것으로 판단된다. 이 연구 결과를 토대로 하여 홀리스틱 교육의 활성화를 위해서 첫째, 대학에서 PBL을 활용한 강좌를 적극적으로 개발하고 이를 적용할 필요성을 제시하고, 둘째, 원활한 PBL적용 강좌 운영을 위한 교수자 교육의 필요성을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the Problem-based Learning(PBL) teaching method in view of holistic education. The participants were 65 undergraduate students and one professor in Culinary Arts and Catering division. This PBL class was carried out for one semester. The data were collected from reflection journals and analysed by grounded theory. The results of the study were summarized as follows; First, the result of students' reflection journals analysis showed that PBL class was found to improve community interaction through cooperation skills and leaderships. Second, the result of students' reflection journals analysis showed that PBL class was found to improve wholeness through experiences related to job and confidence. Third, the result of students' reflection journals analysis showed that PBL class was found to improve creativity through creative problem-solving process and interest. Fourth, the result of professor's reflection journals analysis showed that PBL class was found to improve interaction and wholeness, creativity. It suggested that university should need to develop and applicate the PBL class in the view of holistic education. It is important for teachers to learn the PBL teaching methods focused on the paradigm of the holistic education.
