영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine how tea ceremony activities would affect young children’s basic life habits and self-regulation and to formulate an effective approach to tea ceremony activities. For this purpose, two five‐year‐old classes of a kindergarten in Seoul were selected as the experimental and control groups of this study, respectively, and tea ceremony activities were applied to the experimental group. With the collected data, ANCOVA was performed on the children’s basic life habits and self-regulation. Based on the results of the analysis, the tea ceremony showed a positive effect on the young children’s basic life habits and self-regulation. This finding suggests that, in response to the demands of contemporary society, by emphasizing the importance of traditional etiquette and culture, the tea ceremony is an effective method of inculcating basic life habits and self-regulation in young children as part of their early child education.
