조손세대 간의 교류를 위한 조부모의 손자녀 독서교육 실태와 활성화 방안

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 조손세대 간 소통 및 조부모의 평생교육 참여를 활성화하기 위한 방안의 하나로 조손세대 간 독서교육 프로그램의 필요성 및 활성화 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 <아름다운 이야기 할머니>로 활동하기 위하여 사전교육을 이수한 연구 참여자 263명을 대상으로, 조부모의 손자녀를 위한 독서교육의 필요성, 조손자녀에 대한 독서교육 실태 및 독서교육을 하지 않는 이유, 독서교육 연수 프로그램 내용 및 참여의향, <아름다운 이야기 할머니> 참여 계기 및 목적을 조사하였다. 그 결과 연구대상자 대부분은 이러한 독서교육에 공감하고 참여 의향이 있었으며, 독서교육 연수 프로그램으로는 '책읽어주기'를 가장 선호하였다. 이와 관련하여 개인적 특성에 따른 차이는 연령에서만 나타났다. 또한, 손자녀에게 독서교육을 하지 않는 이유로는 ‘자주 만날 수가 없어서’, 참여 계기는 ‘친구나 친지 소개’로, 참여 목적은 ‘일하는 즐거움’이 각각 가장 많았다. 따라서 이러한 설문조사 결과를 반영하여 조손세대간 소통 및 고령화에 따른 효과적인 평생교육 참여방안 마련을 위한 독서교육 연수 프로그램의 활성화 방안을 제시하였고, 전국적인 조손세대 간의 독서교육에 대한 실태조사와 체계적안 전문 교육과정의 개발을 위한 후속연구가 필요함을 논의하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 관련된 연구의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있으며, 조부모세대를 위한 국가적 차원의 체계적이고 전문적인 독서교육 전문과정을 개발하여 보급한다면 고령화 사회의 대안으로 시의적절할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study is to reveal the need of grandparent-grandchild's reading programs as an activation method of intergenerational communication and grandparent generation's participation in lifelong education and to suggest their activation plans. For this, focused on study subjects who completed pre-training to work as "a beautiful story-grandmother(BSG)", the need of grandparent-grandchild reading programs, the actuality of present reading education and the reason not to read to grandchild(ren), training contents of BSG and intentions, purposes and motives to join BSG were surveyed. From the survey results, most subjects sympathized with the need, had an intention to join and preferred 'reading books' among programs. Concerning these, the only individual characteristic difference was that of age. Moreover, the answers of 'not meeting often' about the question of the reason not to read to children, of 'suggested by a friend / relative' about the chance to join it and of 'working pleasure' about the participation purpose were the most respectively. Reflecting the study results, the activation methods for intergenerational communication and effective participation in lifelong education were proposed and the actual nationwide survey of grandparent-grandchild reading education and future studies on developing systematic and professional teaching courses were discussed to be needed. These study results and suggestions can be utilized as basic data concerning related studies. Developing and diffusing such courses at the national level will be a timely, appropriate alternative to the aging society.
