성공적 노후 준비를 위한 노인 인문학 평생교육 프로그램 효과성에 대한 실증적 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 2009년 서울시가 9988어르신 프로젝트 사업의 일환으로 실시한 노후준비를 위한 ‘어르신 인 문학 아카데미’교육의 성과를 분석하였으며, 성과 분석을 통해 성공적 노후를 위해 평생교육 차원에서 효과적인 노후준비교육의 내용과 방향을 도출하고자 하였다. 이에 서울시에 거주하며, 서울시 지원(2009) ‘어르신 인문학 아카데미’ 교육에 자발적으로 참여한 만 60 세 이상 학습자 1,561명을 대상으로 하였으며, 성과분석과 면담조사로 구성하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 신체적 차원으로 노년층들을 대상으로 건강하고 성공적인 노후를 맞이하기 위해서 장기 적이면서 구체적인 종합적 교육프로그램이 필요하다고 할 수 있겠다. 둘째, 사회적 차원에서 보면 은퇴 후 사회활동의 기회가 매우 적어지는 노년층들은 사회활동을 위한 교육이 필요하다. 셋째, 심리적 차원으로 노년기를 잘 보낼 수 있도록 교육하는 프로그램을 제공하여 심리적으로 안정시켜 줄 필요가 있다. 넷째, 경제적 차원의 노인교육이 필요하다. 은퇴이후 노인들은 비경제적인 활동 참여인 자원봉사, 사회공헌, 시장 밖의 비경제적인 활동 교육도 성공적 노후 생활에 중요하다. 이러한 결과를 통해 현재 참여하고 있지 않은 사람들의 욕구를 파악하고 이들의 접근성을 높이는 것이 중요한 문제이며, 지역 사회 내 자원 공유가 가능한 평생교육 정보가 제공되면 고령자들에게 많은 도움이 될 것으로 보인다. 이에 따라 급격하게 변화되고 정보화 사회에서 요구하는 새로운 지식과 기술을 습득하고 발전시켜 향후 고령층 증가에 따른 노인 인문학 평생교육 프로그램 개발이 지속 되어야 하겠다.

영문 초록

This study has analyzed the performance of ‘Humanities Academy for Seniors,’ an education aimed at their retirement preparation; it was conducted by the City of Seoul in 2009 as part of 9988 Project for Seniors. The purpose was to establish the content and direction on effective lifelong education on retirement preparation for successful retirement. To accomplish the objectives, 1,561 seniors aged 60 and over who reside in Seoul and voluntarily participated in the 'Humanities Academy for Seniors" were surveyed with questionnaires on performance analysis and interview. The Academy was supported by the City of Seoul (2009). Based on the analysis, the following are suggested. First, concrete long-term comprehensive educational program is necessary for seniors to have a successful retirement life and stay healthy physically and mentally. Second, education for seniors, who rarely engage in social activities after retirement, is necessary at a social level. Third, it is necessary to offer programs that allow them to live their lives productively from psychological standpoint in a stable manner. Fourth, education for seniors related to finance is necessary. Also, it is important for retirees to engage in volunteering, social contribution activities and other non-financial activities. Based on the results, it is important to identify the desires of people who are not getting such education and boost its their participation. Also, information on lifelong education that allows seniors to share resources within their community will be very helpful. Thus, such lifelong humanities education program should be continuously developed, amid rising elderly population, by acquiring and developing new knowledge and technology that are changing rapidly and needed in the information-oriented society.
