실천지능 계발 프로그램의 영재교육 적용 가능성 탐색

국문 초록

본고는 Sternberg의 성공지능이론의 하위 구성 요인인 실천지능(practical intelligence)이 영재교육에 있어서 매우 필요한 개념으로 보고, 이 실천지능을 계발할 수 있는 프로그램을 영재교육에 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 탐색하고자 하였다. Sternberg에 따르면, 실천지능은 현재의 환경에 적응하고, 최적의 환경을 선택하며 개인의 능력, 흥미 또는 가치에 부합되도록 환경을 조형하는 것인데, 이러한 실천지능은 교육학점 관점과 실용적 관점에서 연구가 이루어져 왔다. 따라서 본고에서는 실천지능에 관한 연구들을 교육 현장에서 적용된 사례와 실생활에서의 접근 측면으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이를 통하여 기존에 많이 다루어진 실제 직업 현장에 적용된 연구보다는 교육 현장에 대한 연구 및 실천지능 계발 프로그램의 다양한 개발이 필요함을 알 수 있는데, 이를 확장하고 적용하여 영재교육 프로그램에서 실천지능 개념의 도입과 실천지능 계발 프로그램이 얼마나 절실한 지, 또 어떤 방향으로 개발하여야 하는지를 제시하였다. 영재교육의 양적 발전뿐 아니라, 질적 향상을 위하여 한국 실정에 맞는 한국형 PIFS의 개발 또는 독자적인 실천지능 계발 프로그램의 개발이 필요하며 이는 영재교육에 반드시 적용되어야 할 것이다. 그러므로 영재교육에서는 실천지능 향상을 위한 교육적 필요성이 제시되고 있으며, 실천지능을 향상 시킬 수 있는 프로그램의 개발이 시급하다. 이를 적용하여 영재 학생 및 일반 학생들의 높은 성취에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있도록 해야 한다.

영문 초록

One of the Sternberg's theory of successful intelligence subcomponents, practical intelligence is very crucial concept in the gifted and talented education. So we explored the applicability of the program for practical intelligence development in gifted education. According to Sternberg, practical intelligence means how a person shapes and forms the environment around him adopting himself to the current environment and selecting the optimal environment to meet the individual abilities, interests and worth. The research of practical intelligence has been conducted in two ways, one is the educational aspect and the other is the practical aspect. Thus, this research studies on the practical intelligence applied in educational field and real life. Through this, we can know it needs to develop various programs for practical intelligence development. It needs to extend and apply the concept of practical intelligence and the program for practical intelligence development in gifted education programs. For qualitative development of gifted education, as well as to improve the quantitative of gifted education, it requires the Korean style PIFS or Korean own the program of practical intelligence development, and it must be applied to gifted education. Therefore a matter of educational importance for practical intelligence in gifted education has been presented and some program development on the research is very urgent at present. We can also apply the research program th high achievement of the gifted student and general students, having positive influences on them.
