선진한국과 기독교의 역할

국문 초록

한국에서 기독교가 유난히 성공한 것은 하나님의 구속사적 섭리에 근거한다. 다음 네 가지 성공 요인을 들 수 있다. 첫째, 1907년 부흥운동으로 복음주의적 기독교가 정착하였다. 둘째, 기독교가 민족주의와 결합하였다. 셋째, 신분제도와 인습적 제도 철폐의 복음이 선포되어 사회를 계몽적으로 이끌었다. 넷째, 기독교가 시도한 새로운 문물과 가치관 도입은 기독교를 개화의 종교로 선호하도록 각인하였다. 초기 한국교회는 다음같이 사회에 기여하였다. 첫째, 한국사회가 압축성장으로 근대화를 이루는 데 기여하였다. 둘째, 원조를 받던 나라에서 원조를 주는 나라가 되는 데 기여하였다. 한국 기독교의 강점은 다음과 같은 것들이다. 첫째, 그것은 복음주의적이고 선교하는 기독교다. 둘째, 기독교는 사회변혁과 생태환경 보존을 실천하고 사회적 소외자들에게 다가간다. 한국 기독교의 단점은 다음과 같은 것들이다. 첫째, 기독교는 사회적 기득권 세력이 되었다. 둘째, 기독교는 내부적인 분열과 권력투쟁 속에 있다. 셋째, 기독교는 대형 및 군소교파로 갈라져, 자격미달의 교역자들이 양산되고 있다. 한국 기독교는 교회왕국이 아닌 하나님의 왕국을 선포해야 한다. 한국교회는 21세기의 새로운 사회를 주도하기 위하여 다음과 같은 사명들을 감당해야 한다. 첫째, 경쟁사회 속에서 상생(相生)의 메시지를 제시해야 한다. 둘째, 민주적이고 자유로운 통일한국의 상을 제시해야 한다. 셋째, 과학기술의 이상향에 대한 인간성 가치를 중시하는 메시지를 제시해야 한다. 넷째, 생태 파괴에 대한 자연친화적 메시지를 제시해야 한다. 다섯째, 인류의 이상향은 지상의 천년왕국이 아닌 신천신지의 천년왕국이라고 증언해야 한다. 초창기의 사회적 신뢰를 회복하기 위하여 기독교의 시민운동으로 샬롬나비 운동이 시작되었다. 샬롬나비 운동은 겸허한 지성, 뜨거운 실천, 신실한 행동으로 이 땅에 하나님의 나라를 세우고 샬롬누리를 가꾸는 밑 걸음이 되고자 한다.

영문 초록

The unique success of Christianity in Korea is grounded on the providence of God. Four factors of success could be mentioned. Firstly, Evangelical Christianity was rooted due to the 1907 revival movement. Secondly, Christianity was connected with the nationalism. Thirdly, the Gospel of dismantling the status -and conventional system was preached, leading the society into the enlightenment. Fourthly, the introduction of new civilization and value view by Christianity impressed the people the Christianity is the religion of enlightenment. The early Korean Christianity made contribution as follows: firstly, it made contribution to establishing a modernization by a compressed growth. Secondly, it made contribution to becoming a giving nation out of the receiving one. The strong point of Korean Christianity is as follows: Firstly, it is an evangelical, missionary Christianity. Secondly, It practices social transformation, preservation of the eco-environment, gets access to the alienated. The disadvantage of Korean Christianity is as follows: Firstly, Christianity has become the established power. Secondly, it is in the inward separation and in the power struggle. Thirdly, it is separated into the major and minor denominations, so that it produces a lot of unqualified pastors. Korean Christianity must preach not the church kingdom but the God's kingdom. In order to lead the 21st century, Korean church needs to carry out the tasks as follows. Firstly, it needs to suggest a message of co-existence in the competing society. Secondly, it needs to suggest an image of democratic, peaceful unified Korea. Thirdly, it needs to suggest a message of emphasizing the value of humanity for the techno-utopia. Fourthly, it needs to suggest a nature-friendly message against the eco-destruction. Fifthly, it needs to give a testimony that the human utopia is not earthly millennial kingdom, but the one of New Heaven and New Earth. The Shalom Nabi movement has begun as a Christian civic campaign, in order to restore the social trust the early Korean church had. The Shalom Nabi movement aims to become a fertilizer in order to establish with humble intelligence, hot practice and faithful action the Kingdom of God on the earth and to care for the shalom-nuri.
