국문 초록

본 논문은 일본의 에도(江戶)시대에 『金七十論』의 연구가 승려들 사이에서 유행했던 현상에 관하여 그 소재와 사정을 탐색한다. 상키야 학파의 논서인 『金七十論』이 진제에 의해 번역된 것이 6세기이고, 일본에 전래된 것은 7∼8세기경이다. 그로부터 약 1000년 후인 에도시대 중기에 짧은 기간 동안 수많은 『金七十論』주석서가 찬술되었고, 그 중 대표적인 것이 교오 곤조(曉應嚴藏)의 『金七十論備考』, 치도 호쥬(智幢法住)의 『金七十論疏』, 코잔 슈로(香山宗朗)의 『金七十論解』, 린죠 카이도(林常快道)의 『金七十論藻鏡』등이다. 본 논문에서는 우선 동아시아 불교계 일반에서의 『金七十論』에 대한 입장을 확인하기 위하여, 예비적으로 중국에서 『金七十論』이 어떻게 읽혀지고 취급되었는지를 조사하고l 다음으로 일본에서 『金七十論』과 관련하여 쟁점이 되었던 문제들의 속사정을 살펴본다. 또, 『金七十論疏』의 사례들을 중심으로 이들의 주석방식의 특징과 이들이 취하는 입장을 확인하며, 마지막으로 이러한 현상의 시대적인 의의를 찾아본다.

영문 초록

Since the Buddhism crossed into the China, numerous Buddhist canons were translated. The 金七十論 the translation of the Sāṃkhyakārikā and its oldest commentary, translated by Paramārtha(眞諦) remains only in tl1e Buddhist collections without any extant Sanskrit version It been of help to study about Sāṃkhya philosophy the Buddhist monks for the refutation of the Sāṃkhya School. In this paper, I would like to point out the phenomenon that commentaries of the 金七十論was written by Buddhist monks belonged to many denominations within Japanese Buddhism in the middle of tile Edo Period. In those days, more than 1000 years after tile 金七十論 was introduced in Japan around 30 of commentaries started to be written suddenly. It is no exaggeration to say that the study on tile 金七十論 was all the rage among thee Japanese Buddhist monks at that time. I have firstly observed how the 金七十論 held a key post of tile research on Sāṃkhya School in China and Secondly focussed on two issues on tile 金七十論. Futhermore, how the Japanese Commentator of the 金七十論 had studied on Sāṃkhya philosophy and used the Chinese Buddhist Canons has lastly been investigated.
