국문 초록

조선조 초기 1세기는 과거 공계적(共系的)이었던 친족제를 단계적(單系的) 친족제로 전환하던 시기였다. 이 과정에서 성욕을 처리하는 문제는 중요한 과제였다. 조선전기 필기 산문 가운데에는 성(性)을 제재로 다룬 이야기가 다수 존재하는데, 그 양상을 검토함으로써 원래 존재했던 여성의 성욕과 사족 남성이 성욕을 새롭게 재구하려는 시도에 관한 일련의 과정을 살필 수 있을 것이다. 이 시기는 ‘공계적(혹은 양측적) 친족제, 부처제, 남녀균등상속제’ 등과 같은 고려의 유습의 영향으로 여성의 지위가 상대적으로 높았고, 사족 남성들도 그들이 주장하던 성리학적 이데올로기에 충분히 체화되지 못한 상황이었다. 이러한 사회 전반의 분위기 속에서 여성은 성적 주체로서 성에 대한 자기 결정권을 갖고 성욕을 비교적 자유롭게 표현했으며, 이것이 사족 남성들에 의해 언어화될 수 있었다. 한편, 가부장제를 확립하는 과정에서 사족 남성들의 인식에 변화가 보인다. 우선 여성의 성욕에 ‘음란’이라는 부정적인 이미지를 부여하고, 남성의 성욕 확장에 대한 여성의 저항에는 ‘질투’나 ‘사나움’과 같은 부정적인 이미지를 덧씌움으로써 여성의 성욕은 부정하다는 공식을 만들었다. 그리고 이를 확실히 각인시키기 위해 성적 쾌락을 즐기는 여성과 관련하여 법적으로 제재하거나 죽음으로 책임지게 하는 단계까지 나아갔다.

영문 초록

The early Joseon Dynasty was the time that the past relational system of sharing succession(共系的) was replaced by a single succession(單系的) system. The core of replacement included the men’s intention that they carried out for sexual desire unilaterally. In the early Joseon Dynasty, There were many prose writings about sex, so by examining these aspects, we can look into the originally having existed women’s sexual desire and the series of process that the noble men tired to reconstruct sexual desire afresh in. Compared with the women’s statute in next period, that of women in this period was relatively higher for Goryoe’s old custom, like the sharing succession system, the relational system, the matrilocal system and the nonsexist inheritance system. So, the noble men also had not embodied their claiming confucian ideology in theirselves enough. In this atmosphere of the society, women could have sexual right of self-determination and express their sexual desire relatively freely. Thus, the desire could be languaged by the noble men. Meanwhile, the confucianism patriarchy being pursued by the noble men was on the premiss of women’s surrender by men’s unilateral exercise of power. Because what the noble men pursue and the reality is so different, they did need to the gradual process. At first, they gave unfaithful images called ‘淫’ to women’s sexual desire and covered the women’s resistance against the extension of men’s sexual desire with obscene images such as jealousy(妬) or violence(悍). Like this way, they made the form that women’s sexual desire was unfaithful. And for definite imprint, they forwarded to legally punish the women for sexual enjoyment and made them expiate their enjoyment with death.
