단군신화를 활용한 고등학교 '도덕과(道德科)' 수업

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 우리나라의 대표적 건국신화인 단군신화의 도덕교육적 의미를 탐색하고, 고등학교 '도덕과' 수업에서 활용할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 논의의 전반부에서는 먼저 단군신화의 내용을 분석하였다. 이 작업을 통해 단군신화를 좀 더 다각적인 측면에서 바라볼 필요성이 있음을 제안한 뒤, 단군신화의 도덕교육적 의미를 크게 세 가지로 요약 제시하였다. 첫째, '도덕적 주체'의 의미 정립과 자각에 도움이 된다. 둘째, '특수한 가치'와 '보편적 가치'를 조화롭게 가르치는 데 기여한다. 셋째, 최근 도덕과 교육에서 부각되고 있는 '도덕적 직관' 능력의 발달을 위한 제재로 사용 가능하다. 이상의 내용에 기초해 논의의 후반부에서는 고등학교 도덕과의 선택과목인 『생활과 윤리』 및 『윤리와 사상』 수업에서 단군신화를 어떻게 활용할 수 있을지 구체적인 방안들을 고찰하였다. 단군신화를 활용함으로써, 『생활과 윤리』 수업에서는 현대 삶에서 발생하는 여러 윤리적 문제들에 대한 학생들의 도덕적 사고와 정서의 발달을 꾀할 수 있고, 『윤리와 사상』 수업에서는 단군신화에 포함되어 있는 유교, 불교, 도가ㆍ도교와의 연결 맥락을 소개하여 학생들이 '외래 사상인 삼교가 이 땅에 쉽게 정착할 수 있었던 사상적 이유'를 학습하게끔 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study aims not only to explore the moral educational significance of Dangun mythology which is the most popular birth mythology of Korea but also to discuss ideas to utilize the mythology to lesson of moral education of high school. In order to achieve the research goal, in the beginning, the study first analyzed the contents of Dangun mythology. Through such discussion, the study argued that it is necessary for any relevant fields to see Dangun mythology from even more various angles and then, summarized and presented the moral educational significance of Dangun mythology as three sub-categories. In the later part of the discussion, the study developed ideas in relation to how Dangun mythology could be utilized in these lessons such as 『Life and Ethics』 and 『Ethics and Thoughts』. In conclusion, the study confirmed that, in 『Life and Ethics』 lesson, the mythology helps students to improve their moral thinking and emotions when they try to talk about ethical issues observed in the present. Add to that, in 『Ethics and Thoughts』 lesson, how Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism included in Dangun mythology are related to each other is introduced to the students, and there, the students understand these 'ideological reasons that supported the convenient settlement of the three foreign thoughts in Korea.'
