중년 미혼 여성의 삶에 관한 현상학적 연구

국문 초록

이 연구는 중년 미혼여성의 삶의 본질은 어떠한가에 대해 결혼관을 중심으로 본 질적 연구이다. 연구 방법으로 Max van Manen의 해석학적 현상학을 적용하였으며 장기간 직장경험을 가지고 있는 38세~42세의 미혼여성들을 심층 면담하였다. 실존하는 대상에 대한 조사와 그것에 대한 해석학적 현상학의 분석과 해석학적 글쓰기 과정을 통해 그들의 삶의 본질을 관찰하고 드러내고자 하였다. 그 결과 연구를 축약하여 드러낼 수 있는 현상학적 주제어로 ‘삶의 의미부여’, ‘선택의 갈림길’, ‘삶의 갈증’, ‘멈추지 않는 간섭’, ‘떨림의 상실’, ‘자녀양육에 대한 염려’ 등을 추출할 수 있었다. 그러한 현상의 중심에는 ‘타자의 시선으로 인해 갇히고 거부된 욕망’이라는 자기소외로 자리 잡고 있었다. 이 연구를 통해 중년 미혼여성의 삶과 그들이 사회에 대해 가지는 생각을 새롭게 인식할 수 있었다. 또한 중년 미혼여성의 삶에 대한 본질을 이해함으로써, 이 연구가 그들이 사회경제적으로 제 역할을 다하고 더 나은 삶을 일구어가는 데 있어 긍정적인 방법론을 제시하는 토대가 될 것이다.

영문 초록

This study was performed through the phenomenological hermeneutical research method by Max van Manen and is aiming at researching ‘how is the essence of life?’, which is centered on outlook on marriage of single women. I tried to find out the answer on the assignment through existential survey and hermeneutical phenomenology's writing. The depth interview about this study was based on the middle-aged single women of the age of from 32 to 42. Following are this study's results: the experienced physical system appears the alienation between the tension and the fatigue, the experienced temporal system appears the expectation and the contradiction, the experienced relational system appears to be difficult in the communication, the experienced spacial system appears to be enduring the life. Also, essential theme analysis was composed of the followings: giving the life meaning, turning point in the choice, the thirst in the life, the unceasing interference, the loss of trembling, the anxiety about parenting and so on. The main phenomenon through this analyzed process was “denied desire locked by themselves by others' view” and this was eventually interpreted as a phenomenon of self-alienation. This study was the chance to aware the self-understanding about the middle-aged single women themselves and their prejudice about the society newly and to look back on them. Also, we can have the authenticity of social welfare policy and their role socioeconomically by understanding the essence about middle-aged women's life, based on the understanding about characteristic of their life. This will suggest the positive methodology for the high-quality life.
