국문 초록

순수정신의 궁극적 실재를 인정하는 일원론 사상에 반발하여 일어난 인도 이원론 사상에서의 자연 개념을 다루고 해탈 추구를 의미하는, 현상적 존재들의 원초적 자연으로의 회귀 과정을 그린다. 전체적 논의는 순수 정신을 제외한 모든 물질적 존재들은 3구나로 이루어져 있으며 미현현의 원초적 자연과 현상적 존재들의 차이는 3구나가 평형상태에 있나 아닌가에 있다. 전체적 논의를 관통하는 철학적 교의는 주관과 객관의 이원성을 띤 의식 활동에 의한 현상적 존재들(경험의 주체와 대상세계)의 발현이 고통스런 삶을 의미하며 3구나의 평형을 꾀하는 노력에 의해 고통에서 벗어나는 길이 가능하다는 것이다.

영문 초록

This essay deals with the concept of Primal Nature in the Indian dualism, namely Saṁkhya philosophy and delineates the dissolution of the phenomenal entities into the Primal Nature, which means the liberation of the soul. It is realistic and the reaction to the idealistic monism of the early Upaniṣads gave rise to its advent. The gist of the entire discourse in this paper consists in that the physical world in total and individual things in particular except the Spirit are constituted by 3 guṇa-s or qualities, and that the difference between the Unmanifested, i.e. the Primal Nature and all other manifested things lies in that in the case of the former 3 guṇa-s are in perfect, dynamic equilibrium and in the case of the latter they are not in such an equilibrium. A philosophical doctrine penetrating the entire discourse is that the manifestation of phenomenal things proceeding from the evolution of the Prime Nature is attributed to the modification of the mind(citta-vṛtti) in condition of the subject-object dichotomy and it indicates suffering in our lives, and that the way to the liberation from suffering is possible by the practical effort to bring about the equilibrium of 3 guṇa-s.
