칼빈의 예배음악 신학에 비춰본 한국 찬송가의 나아갈 방향

국문 초록

본 연구는 칼빈의 예배음악 신학에 비쳐본 한국 찬송가에 대한 연구이다. 하나님 중심의 예배음악에 대하여 가장 분명하게 강조한 사람은 종교개혁가 칼빈이었다. 칼빈은 인간중심의 음악이 예배에 들어오는 것을 철저히 차단하고 오직 하나님 중심의 예배음악이 되어야 함을 강조하였다. 그는 이를 위해『제네바 시편가』를 만들어 예배 중 회중찬송으로 사용하였다. 그러므로 칼빈의 예배음악에 대한 신학에 비추어 오늘날 한국교회의 찬송가의 현주소를 밝히는 작업은 매우 중요한 가치가 있다고 생각한다. 그러므로 본 논문에서는 현재 사용되고 있는 한국, 미국, 독일, 프랑스 등의 찬송가를 분석하여 예배음악의 비중을 제시하였다. 본 연구의 결과 한국 찬송가의 예배음악 비중은 다른 나라 특히 미국이나 프랑스 찬송가의 절반 정도 비중으로 나타났다. 그러므로 한국 찬송가의 나아갈 방향에 대해 종교개혁 당시 칼빈의 주장을 중심으로 재조명하여 이 땅에 신학적 뿌리나 정통성이 불분명한 인간중심적 음악의 오남용을 막고, 하나님 중심의 아름다운 예배찬송이 회복되어야 할 방법을 제안하였다. 결론에서는 칼빈의 예배음악 신학이 하나님 말씀인 성경에 기초해 있는 것과 마찬가지로, 미래의 우리 찬송가도 하나님 말씀인 성경에 기초한 예배찬송이 더 많아져야 함을 강조하며 결론지었다.

영문 초록

This research is about Korean Hymnal in the light of Calvin's Theology of Service Music. John Calvin is one of the most remarkable religious reformers who clearly emphasized that service music is to be God oriented only by completely intercepting human-centered music. To show his beliefs, he made Genevan Psalter and used it as a congregational song. Therefore, it has a very precious value to reveal the present state of the Korean Hymnal in the light of the Calvin's theological beliefs on service music. This dissertation presents the importance of service music by presenting the analysis of the current hymns in the representative countries, such as Korea, America, Germany, France, etc. The result of the research shows that the relative importance of hymns in Korea reaches half the ratio to the importance of hymnal in other countries, especially America or France. Therefore, this study suggests the methods for preventing abuse of the human-centered music that lacks theological foundations or legitimacy, at the same time, recovering glorious service music that is God oriented, by reviewing the advisable direction for Korean Hymnal based on the Calvin's assertion. In the end, I concluded that Korean future hymnal also should be based on the Bible, which is God's message, by following the example of Calvin's theology of service music.
