국문 초록

1. 연구목적 □ 본 연구는 근로자의 근로시간의 길이 뿐만 아니라 근로하는 근로시간대 (work time zone)에 따라 근로자의 생활방식이 상이할 것이라는 점에서 출발하였다. 그러나 근로자의 시간배분과 근로시간대가 근로자의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향에도 불구하고 이에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 이에 따라 근로자의 근로시간대가 근로 이외의 행동 시간에 미치는 영향과 근로시간대가 근로자의 건강상태에 미치는 영향의 중요성을 인식하고 분석을 시도하였다. 본 연구는 시간사용조사(Time Use survey)에서 제공하는 행동별 시간량과 시간대 정보를 활용하여 남녀임금근로자를 근로시간대별로 분류하고 이에 근거하여 행동별 시간배분 현황과 건강상태를 예측할 수 있는 피곤의 결정요인을 성별로 알아보고 남성임금근로자와 비교를 통해 여성임금근로자에게 시사하는 바를 도출하고자 한다. 2. 연구 내용 및 방법 □ 본 연구의 주요 연구내용을 살펴보면 2장에서는 근로자의 시간배분 관련선행 연구와 근로자의 건강 관련 선행 연구를 검토하였다. 3장에서는 우리 나라 남녀 임금근로자의 시간배분 현황을 근로시간대별로 2004년, 2009년 자료를 통해 비교 분석하였고 이를 바탕으로 남녀 임금근로자의 행동별 시간배분 결정에 인적 특성(연령, 학력, 혼인여부 등), 종사하고 있는 일자리의 산업ㆍ직업, 근로시간대, 근로요일이 미치는 영향에 대해서 실증분석하였다. 4장에서는 근로자의 건강을 '피곤'의 정도로 살펴보았는데 시간배분현황과 동일하게 근로시간대를 중심으로 개인의 인적 특성과 일자리 특성별과 쉬는 날별로 살펴보았고 마지막으로 근로자 건강 상태로 본 연구에서 는 피곤을 결정 짓는 요인에 대해서 실증분석하였다. 5장에서는 연구결과 를 요약하고 정책 과제를 제안하였다.

영문 초록

There have been very few studies on workers' time distribution and working time zones even though those two factors have an impact on quality of life of workers. This study analyzes how the lifestyles of workers can be different according to the length of work as well as the work time zone. For this, this study uses information on the amount of time spent on activities and time zone from Time Use survey and classified male and female wage workers according to time zone. On the basis of this analysis, this study found that time spent on activities and health conditions to be able to predict fatigue and drew out the implications of this analysis for female wage workers compared to male wage workers. This study classified time zones as daytime, nighttime, and midnight based on the quinquennial Time Use surveys of National Statistical Office as below. • Daytime: working hours from 8 AM to 4 PM accounted for over 50% of total working hours • Nighttime: working hours from 4 PM to midnight accounted for over 50% of total working hours • Midnight: working hours from midnight to 8AM the next day accounted for over 50% of total working hours As a result of this study, our government needs guidance and promotions for sharing housework for both men and women. Also they need to encourage companies to refrain from working on public holidays, including Saturday and Sunday as a part of extended working hours. Lastly, they need to provide a better work environment in order to relieve fatigue for midnight shift workers after their work.
