A Study on the Economic Use of Material Handling Equipment under Failure Uncertainty

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 A/S서비스 보증기간 종료로부터 유발되는 고장 불확실성을 고려하여 하역기기의 경제적인 교체시기를 모델화하고 최적해를 제시하였다. 예측불가능한 불확실성을 이끄는 자연재해 등과는 달리 기기의 운영신뢰성을 좌우하는 서비스 보증기간의 만료(EOS: End-of-Service), 즉 인위적으로 주어질 수 있는 고장 불확실성 및 리스크를 2가지 형태: (a)고장 불확실성으로 인한 리스크를 감안하는 경우, (b)계약 갱신을 통해 고장불확실성으로부터 유발되는 리스크를 회피하는 경우의 경제적 수명주기 형태로 표현하였다. 수치예제에서는 2가지 형태별 하역기기의 최적 교체시기를 분석하였다. 먼저 (a)고장리스크를 감안하는 경우는 본 연구에서 제시한 최적해 도출프로세스에 따라 T=5년 (ORT₅＜C＜ORT₆)으로 파악되었으며, (b)고장리스크를 회피하는 경우의 최적 교체시기는 이보다 1년 늦은 T=6년 (ORT₆＜C＜ORT₇)으로 산출되었다.

영문 초록

Improving productivity of a logistics filed requires a stable and economical operation of material handling equipment. Such an effort involves at its first priority removing an operational uncertainty associated with the failure of equipment and the subsequent loss accruing from the shutdown in the EOS(End of Service) operation. Because the maintenance schedule and also the equipment replacement timing are intimately intertwined strategic factors in the logistics operation, this paper attempts to examine the issue of the material handling equipment embedded with the failure uncertainty by explicitly considering such factors as the opportunity of maintenance, optimal replacement time, cash flow, EOS and VaR. We design a model with cash flow and suggest an optimal replacement time by numerical examples.
