국문 초록

<차사본풀이>는 저승차사의 좌정(坐定) 내력을 풀이하는 무속신화로서 주인공 강림의 저승여행이 서사의 핵심을 이루고 있다. 강림의 저승여행은 낯선 타계로 나아가는 노정이자 자신의 내면으로 향한 탐색의 여정이다. 여행의 경로에 따라 변화하는 인물형상은 저승차사로의 전환과 그에 따른 정체성 확인과정을 보여준다. 강림의 행로를 따라 이계공간은 점차 구체적인 모습을 드러내고, 세계간의 경계를 표상하는 공간적 지점들이 부각되는데, 이러한 지점마다 특별한 의례가 수행되면서 저승세계로의 진입이 점차적으로 허용된다. 강림의 저승여행은 미지의 외부공간이던 저승세계를 기지(旣知)의 세계로 전환시킴으로써, 저승세계를 이 세상적 관점에서 내부공간화(內部空間化)하는 작업인 것이다. 강림의 저승여행은 이승/저승으로 구획된 세계간의 경계를 넘어 소통을 실현하고자 하는 인간의 의지를 보여준다. 저승여행자 강림은 세계간의 경계를 넘음으로써 일체화된 세계상(世界像)을 실현하고 있다. 여정에 따라 변모하는 인물의 형상은 죽음에 대한 두려움과 삶을 향한 열망이 부딪히면서 만들어낸 자기확인의 과정을 보여준다. 강림의 서사는 이계여행을 통해 어떻게 정체성을 확인하고 존재전환을 이루어갔는가를 보여주는 이야기이며, 인간의 경계를 넘어 신이 되는 경계넘기의 서사이다.

영문 초록

is the shaman myth that tells about movements of a death envoy, Ganglim to the other world. Ganglim's travel to the other world is a journey to an unfamiliar world as well as an exploration to his inner self. The character types that change along the path of the travel show his transformation as a death envoy and process of his self identification. As Ganglim travels the other world shows itself and the boundaries of different worlds become distinct. As special rituals are carried out at each boundary, entrance to the other world is gradually open. Ganlim's travel makes the other world into a known world and internalizes the space from the view point of this world. Ganglim's travel to the other world represents the human determination to cross the boundary set between this world and the other world in oder to communicate. The traveller Ganglim realizes the image of the unified world. The characters that transform during the journey represent the process of self-identification in the battle between the fear of death and aspiration for life. The epic of Ganglim is the story that tells how he identifies himself and transforms. It is the story of crossing the boundary of human world to become a god.
