교차분류 다층자료에 대한 모형의 명세화 오류가 모수추정량의 편의에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 학교 현장에서 흔히 발견되는 3수준 다층자료가 2수준에서 교차되는 3수준 교차분류 다층구조임에도 불구하고 연구자들이 2수준 혹은 3수준 내재 다층모형으로 자료를 분석하는 경우, 자료구조에 대한 모형의 명세화 오류가 고정효과 및 무선효과의 추정에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 검토하기 위한 것이다. 연구의 목적을 성취하기 위하여 자료의 구조를 적절히 반영하는 3수준 교차분류다층모형을 준거모형으로 하여 모의자료를 생성하였으며, 3수준 교차분류다층모형, 2수준 내재모형, 그리고 3수준 내재모형의 모수 추정량과 표준오차 추정량의 상대적 편의(relative bias)와 효율성(efficiency)을 검토하는 모의실험을 하였다. 이때 모의실험의 조건 변수들은 중간 수준에서 두 요인 간의 교차율, 교차되는 집단의 수(표본의 크기), 집단내 상관계수(ICC)의 크기였다. 나아가 모형의 모수 추정방식, 모형별 분산-공분산 성분의 변산원과 크기의 차이를 이론적으로 구조화하여 제시하였다.

영문 초록

This study investigates the effects of misspecification of multilevel models when the data are not purely hierarchical. The type of mutilevel data considered in this study is 3-level cross-classified multilevel data where level-1 units are nested within the cells cross-classified by the two level-2 units that are again nested within level-3 units. Analysis of cross-classified multilevel(CCM) data is not popular nor easy. Many researchers ignore the structure of cross-classification at the intermediate level when they analyze the CMM data. Therefore this study compared the estimators of three types of multilevel models in the analysis of CCM data: the 3-level cross-classified multilevel model(CCMM-3), 2-level nested multilevel model(NMM-2), and 3-level nested multilvel model(NMM-3). The authros conducted a Monte Carlo study and generated simulation data under the several conditions of crossing-ratio, unequal intraclass correlation coefficients and unequal sizes of the cells that are cross-classified by the two level-2 units. This simulation study investigated the relative bias of the estimators for fixed effects and of random effects parameters along with the differences in the magnitude of standard errors from the three models. Both unconditional and conditional models were compared to provide more comprehensive understanding of the differences than the past studies. The were also calculated in order to judge which model is the most appropriate. The results of the simulation analyses via the three models were dicussed and summarized in several categories.
