근대 태동기 한국어 교재의 회화문 분석

국문 초록

이 글은 근대적 교육기(1870~1909)에 간행된 한국어 교재의 회화문을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 근대 태동기의 한국 정세는 국제관계를 비롯해 국내에서의 군란과 정변에 이르기까지 혼란과 변화가 뒤섞인 시기로 볼 수 있다. 이 시기의 한국어 교재는 내용에 있어서도 어휘를 대조했던 이전 시기와 달리 문법 교수가 중심이 되어 편찬되었으며, 주로 품사체계나 용언의 활용에 초점을 두고 발음이나 음운 체계에 대한 설명을 덧붙이는 형태로 간행되었다. 문법과 더불어 회화를 위한 교재도 등장해 주제별, 단원별로 회화문을 구성하고 있다는 점도 이 시기 교재의 특징으로 볼 수 있다. 본고에서는 이 시기 간행된 14종의 교재를 회화부의 표기 방식과 대화문의 구성 방식으로 나눠 살펴보고, 이전 시기 및 이후 시기와의 연관성을 찾고자 한다. 특별히 이 글에서는 그동안 주된 분석의 대상이 되었던 『역대문법대계』에 실린 교재와 더불어 일본국회도서관에 소장된 회화 중심의 한국어 교재를 살피는 데 중심을 두었다. 이를 위해 2장에서는 이 시기의 전반적인 특성과 더불어 이 시기 간행된 교재의 특징을 일별하였고, 3장부터는 선정된 교재의 회화문의 구성 방식을, 4장에서는 회화부의 표기 방식을 살펴보았다.

영문 초록

This article is intended to analyze colloquial sentences of Korean Language textbooks published in the modern educational period(1870~1909). During the modern quickening era, the situation of Korea was mixed with the chaos and changes not only in the international relationship, but in the domestic insurrection of troops and political upheaval. Korean Language textbooks published in this period concentrated on grammar teaching, in contrast to the earlier period to compare vocabularies, and added explanations about pronunciation or phonology, focusing on the system of parts of speech or the pleonastic use, mainly. The appearance of textbooks which were designed not only for grammars, but also conversations, and consisted of colloquial sentences depending on the topic and unit, is also one of distinct characteristics of them during this period. This article analyzed the composition of units, the notation of colloquial sentences and the composition of dialogues of 14 kinds of textbooks published in this age, in order to look for the relationships with those that were published in the earlier period and the later period. In particular, it minimized the teaching materials included in 『Collection of Century of studies on Grammar in Korea』 that has been the subject to the major analysis, so far, and focused on examining conversation-centered Korean Language textbooks possessed in the National Assembly Library of Japan. For achieving these objectives, Chapter 2 took a glance over general properties of this period and properties of teaching materials published at this moment, and Chapter 3 investigated the composition of units, the notation of colloquial sentences and the composition of conversations of the selected teaching materials.
