초등학생의 거주지별 학업성적 및 도농간 학업성적의 성별 차이 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 거주지별 학업성적의 차와 도농간 학업성적에서의 성별 차이를 비교 분석하였다. 그 결과, 학생들의 학업성적은 거주지역과 밀접한 관계가 있으며 학업성적에서의 성차 또한 거주지역에 따라 서로 다른 양상을 나타낸다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 거주지별 학업성적의 차에 대한 분석결과 중 특히 주의를 끄는 부분은 바로 5학년 일부 교과를 제외한 대부분의 교과에서 중소도시 지역의 학생들이 농촌 지역 학생들보다 낮은 성적을 보인다는 점이다. 이러한 분석 결과는 지역에 따른 학업성적의 차가 대도시, 중소도시, 농촌 지역 순으로 높다고 한 과거의 분석 결과들과는 사뭇 다른 모습을 보여주고 있다. 한편 학업성적의 점수대별 분포를 거주지별로 비교한 결과, 농촌 지역 초등학교 3학년의 경우, 평균점수가 50점대 이하에 속하는 학생이 전혀 존재하지 않아 심각한 기초학력 저하를 나타내는 학생 수가 대도시와 중소도시보다는 훨씬 적은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 초등학교 5학년에 이르러서는 80점 이상의 점수대에서 대도시와 중소도시보다 훨씬 더 적은 수의 학생 분포를 나타내 보였다. 마지막으로 학업성적에 있어 성차는 지역에 따라 서로 다른 양상을 나타내며 학년에 따라 그 양상도 변화되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉 남녀 간 학업성적의 차는 학년이 올라갈수록 도시에서 농촌으로 옮겨 가는 현상을 나타내었다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to analyze the difference of academic achievement by residential area and gender differences in the academic achievement between three areas (big city, small city, and rural area). Through the results, it was proved that academic achievement is closely related to residential area and gender differences; academic achievement is also different depending on the residential area. The following are the results of this study. First, when the difference of academic achievement by residential area was analyzed, the results showed that residential area affects students' academic achievement. 3rd, 4th, 5th grade students' academic scores were the highest in big cities, whereas academic scores in the rural areas were higher than those in small cities for most of 3rd, 4th, 5th grade subjects, with an exception for some of the 5th grade subjects. Hence, students' scores were high in the order of big city-small city-rural area. Second, when comparing distributions by the score level depending on the residential area, the results showed that distribution by the score level also showed regional differences. Third, gender differences in the academic achievement showed different patterns according to regions, and the patterns changed depending on the grade. In the 3rd grade, there were gender differences focused on urban areas. However, in the 5th, there were gender differences in many of the subjects focused on rural areas. Thus, the results showed that gender differences moved from urban to rural areas as students entered upper grades.
