주요국의 초등학교 주5일 수업제 비교 연구

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 중국과 일본, 프랑스, 독일, 캐나다, 미국의 초등학교 주5일 수업제를 도입 배경, 도입 목적, 교육지원체제, 수업일 및 교육과정 운영 실태 등의 기준에 따라 분석하였다. 분석한 결과, 문화적ㆍ제도적 차이가 있으나 다음과 같은 시사점을 발견할 수 있었다. 첫째, 주요국의 초등학교 주5일 수업제의 도입은 교사를 포함한 학부모들의 주5일제 근무를 전제로 해야 한다. 둘째, 초등학교 주5일 수업제 실시에 관한 사항은 이해당사자들의 토론과 오랜 합의 과정을 거쳐 신중히 결정되어야 한다. 셋째, 주5일 수업제의 도입을 통해 기대되는 교육적 전망을 명확하게 설정하고 설정된 전망에 따라 학교가 이를 충실히 실천해야 한다. 넷째, 토요휴업일에 학생들이 여가시간을 활용할 수 있는 교육프로그램과 지역사회교육시설이 구비되어야 한다. 다섯째, 2009 개정 교육과정의 학습내용과 양이 적정화되고 증감되어 교과서가 만들어져야 하고, 수업일수는 최대 190일, 1일 수업시수는 최대 6교시 이내로 적정화되어야 한다. 여섯째, 학부모와 지역사회 주민들이 초등학교 주5일 수업제의 도입 목적과 과정에 대해 이해할 수 있도록 다양한 홍보 프로그램을 시행해야 한다.

영문 초록

This study was designed to make an analysis of the background of introduction, purpose of introduction, curriculum, school days, and educational support systems of an elementary school weekly five school days system in China, Japan, France, Germany, Canada, and the United States. In spite of differences in cultural and institutional differences, we found the following implications: First, weekly five school days system have to be discussed on condition of weekly five days work for parents including elementary school teachers. Second, the matters about weekly five school days system have to be decided carefully through a process of discussion and consensus of stakeholders. Third, expected educational prospects about weekly five school days system have to be clearly decided. Fourth, for the students’ saturday off, educational programs and community educational support structures have to be equipped and established through a connection between schools and the community. It is necessary for local communities to cooperate and for students to have various experience. Fifth, the 2009 revised Korean national curriculum contents, and the amount of school days, and also the amount of instruction hours have to be reduced to within 190 school days and properly implemented. Sixth, the various promotional programs have to be developed for parents and community members about the introduction of the purpose of weekly five school days system.
