영문 초록

This paper’s aim is to analyze a actual condition of modern zen-poems of Korea, and to look out it’s new shape. Facing the new cultural condition, for instance, overflowing of material civilization and commercialism, we have lost aura in the spiritual world. Therefore the moderns have been trying find a spiritual rest, zen is it’s suitable method. According to this condition, Korean poets have been writing zen-poems based on Buddhistic imagination. On these days, not only Buddhist monk poets but also many common poets have got started zen poems. Through the training of Zen spirit, we have got a self purification, a struggle will for truth, and have changed mind from vertical thought to horizontal thought. In this paper, we have tried to find these zen sprit in modern zen-poems. In conclusion many poets have got the virtuality of zen, for instance, a self purification or a desire of transcendency, have not got truth through the whole changing mind as first age of Chinese zen Buddhism. According to these condition, zen-poets of Korea must sieve the horizontal thought, must concentrate their effort on realizing democratic society.
