국문 초록

최근 기업의 사회적 책임(CSR)에 관한 논의가 지속적으로 이루어지고 있다.CSR의 범위에 기업윤리, 지배구조,회계 및 거래투명성,노사관계,환경·안전·위생,사회공헌,협력업체와의 관계 등이 포함되고 있고,지속가능경영을 포함하는 개념으로 확대되고 있다.CSR이 기업의 전략적 선택으로 활용되는 경향이 있으며,외국의 선행연구에서 CEO의 지적자극이 전략적 CSR에 정(+)의 영향을 미친다는 것이 검증되었고,기업의 재무성과와 CSR간에 정(+)의 관계가 존재한다는 연구들이 진행되고 있다.본 연구는 선행연구의 결론을 바탕으로 국내기업을 대상으로 실증분석 하였다.분석결과 CEO의 카리스마는 사회적 CSR과,지적자극은 전략적 CSR과 정(+)의 관계가 있다는 것을 검증하여,국내기업의 CSR은 경영전략적 측면과 여유자원의 재량적 기부와 같은 사회적 측면에서 동시에 수행되고 있다는 것을 밝혔다.또한 기업의 재무성과와 CSR간의 정(+)의 관계를 부분적으로 검증하여,기업의 경쟁우위 확보를 위한 전략적 차원에서 CSR을 접근할 필요가 있다는 것을 제시하였다. 향후 CEO의 변혁적 리더십 특질 외의 다른 리더십 특질이 CSR에 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대한 고찰과 기업의 재무성과와 CSR간의 관계에 대한 추가적인 연구가 필요하며,무엇보다 CSR측정의 일관성 확보를 위해 사회적으로 합의된 CSR 지표 개발이 중요하다 하겠다.

영문 초록

In recent years, many scholars have discussed Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR). The CSR includes business ethics, corporate governance, accounting and trading transparency, labor relations, community involvement, and relationships with suppliers. Researchers are expanding the concept of CSR to sustainability. Companies tend to use CSR as a strategic choice for competitive advantage. Previous studies indicate that CEO intellectual stimulation was found to be associated with the strategic CSR. There are many researches on the relationship between financial performance and CSR. This study analyzed empirically CSR cases of Korean companies based on the conclusions of previous studies. The results of this study show that CEO charisma is associated with social CSR positively and CEO intellectual stimulation is also associated with strategic CSR positively. We find out Korean companies are carried out CSR for the purpose of both strategic management and social purposes. Financial performance of a company has partially positive relationship with CSR. This means that at a strategic level, it is necessary to access the company’s CSR for competitive advantage. We suggest further research on the relationship between various aspects of leadership and CSR and the causal relationship between financial performance and CSR in detail. Above all, it is important to develop CSR measures to ensure the validity and the credibility of measurements which is socially acceptable.
