영문 초록

Metaphor is not only a figure of speech but also a cross-domain mapping in the conceptual system and a structure of action. In the field of creation, metaphor is a analogy of likeliness between two objects or concepts. In the field of figuration, it is a transference of meaning and a interaction between tenor and vehicle or frame and focus. In the field of interpretation, it is a identification between two concepts. In the field of communication, it is a praxis of meaning. In mass culture text, metaphor is not only a static structure implying the world of identification but also a dynamic structure leading to praxis. Most of all, metaphor intends to the universal, ideal, tradition. However, it resists against existing code and identifying system. Metaphor identified by ruling class functions as a ideology. However, metaphor created by grass-roots functions as a counter-ideology. Metaphor hides as much as it reveals. If we read only the meanings revealed, we should be degraded to the Being manipulated by myth and ideology of mass culture text. However, if we read and expose the meanings hidden endlessly, we should be the subject of interpretation and be filled with rapture approaching to the substance of meanings.
