독서교육 프로그램이 부모의 자아개념 및 부모효능감에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 평생교육기관에서 성인인 부모의 특성을 고려한 독서교육 프로그램이 부모의 자아개념과 부모효능감에 긍정적인 효과 여부와 부모의 배경변인(학력, 직업, 나이, 경제수준)에 따라 차이가 있을 것인지 확인하는데 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 경기도 부천에 위치한 복사골문화센터를 이용하는 주민 중, 만 3~5세의 자녀를 둔 학부모 총 60명을 대상으로 실험집단 30명, 비교집단 30명을 무선배치하였다. 실험집단과 비교집단 모두 12주간, 주 1회 100분씩 실험을 진행하였다. 실험집단 30명은 성인의 특성을 고려한 독서교육 프로그램을 실시하였고, 비교집단 30명은 일반적으로 행해지는 독서교육프로그램으로 나누어 실시되었다. 사전, 사후검사 도구로는 이경화, 고진영(2005)의 『자아개념 검사-성인용(SSCI-Ⅳ)』와 신숙재(1997)가 번안한 부모효능감 척도인 『P.S.O.C.(Parenting Sense of Competence)』를 사용하였다. SPSS WIN 11.0 프로그램을 이용하여 t-test, 이원분산분석(ANOVA)를 통해 결과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과 첫째, 독서교육 프로그램은 부모의 자아개념에 유의미한 차이가 있지 않았으나, 하위 영역 중 학문적 자아개념 영역의 언어부분에 효과가 확인되었다. 둘째, 부모의 효능감에는 유의미한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 부모의 배경변인(학력, 직업, 나이, 경제수준)에 따라 부모의 독서교육 프로그램 효과에 차이가 있지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 본 연구에서 실시한 독서교육 프로그램이 평생교육기관 현장에서 부모의 효능감을 높이는 독서교육 프로그램으로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to find whether the reading education programs made especially considering the characteristics of adult parents in the continuing education institutes have a positive effect on self-concept and efficacy, and also whether such effect would vary in accordance to the background variables of the parents(education, occupation, age, economic level). The objects of this research were 60 parents who were the residents using the Boksagol Cultural Center located in Bucheon and had children of age 3-5. They were divided into two groups: the experiment group of 30 people and the comparison group of 30 people. The Experiment was proceeded during the period of 12 weeks for both of the experiment group and the comparison group: for 100 minutes a week. The experiment group of 30 people received the reading education with a special program made considering the characteristics of adult parents and the comparison group of 30 people received the reading education with a generally used program. Lee Kyung Hwa & Go Jin Young’s “Self-Concept Test for Adult(SSCI-Ⅳ)(2005)” and “P.S.O.C.(Parenting Sense of Competence)(1997)”, which is the assessment tool of parent efficacy and was modified by Sin Sook Jae, were used as a tool for pre- and post-experiment. The results was analyzed through t-test and Two-Way ANOVA by using SPSS WIN 11.0 program. The results of this study: First, the reading education program didn’t cause any significant change in the parent’s self-concept, however the effect was confirmed in the language part of the academic self-concept area among the sub-areas. Second, it showed a significant effect on the parent’s efficacy. And also the effect of the parent’s reading education program didn’t vary depending on the background variables of the parents(education, occupation, age, economic level). Therefore, it is highly recom mended to use the parent’s reading education program employed for this research to enhance parents’ efficacy in the field of the continuing education institutes.
