국문 초록

이 연구는 균형, 포괄, 연관을 강조하는 홀리스틱 교육과정의 맥락에서 고등학교의 수준별 교육과정 실행 양상을 질적으로 사례 연구하되, 단계형 수준별 교육과정을 대상으로 실행되는 학급 간 능력별 집단편성을 중심으로 하였다. 이를 위해 연구 문제 설정 후 이론적 배경 탐색을 통해서 수준별 교육과정 실행의 타당성과 부당성을 파악하고, 수준별 교육과정 실행과 관련된 요인들을 탐색하였으며 이를 수준별 교육과정 실행에 대한 분석 단위로 설정하였다. 이후 설정된 분석 단위들을 중심으로 현장에서 수집된 질적 자료를 분석하였다. 질적 자료 수집 방법으로는 현장 수업에 대한 서술적 관찰, 교사와 학생에 대한 심층면담, 학생에 대한 서술적 관찰 방법을 활용하였으며, 수집된 질적 자료들은 학습기회시간분석과 중요사레추출, 과정분석, 분석단위에 대한 서술적 분석 등의 방법으로 해석하였다. 이를 통해 수준별 교육과정의 실행이 지니는 교육적 타당성을 점검하고 수준별 교육과정 실행의 한계점을 도출하면서 이를 홀리스틱 교육의 관점으로 평가하였다.

영문 초록

This is a qualitative case study for an implementation of differentiated curriculum focusing on ability grouping between classes, in which an differentiated curriculum implementation in a high school would be observed to review an educational validity of the differentiated curriculum which is the purpose of this study. Such ways of study showed the summarized results as follows. First, on the basis of the school affairs management and differentiated curriculum implementation of the school subject to the study have been perverted due to a various present limits imposed on the high schools in our nation. Second, on the basis of the teachers, the differences of the learning duration and opportunities between ability grouping were confirmed, and the students in the low-level group were sustaining damages, the inequality due to a reduced and controlled learning opportunities. Third, on the basis of the students, the students in the high school subject to the study, revealed a peer interaction in heterogeneous ability group much more active then in homogeneous ability group. Fourth, both the teachers and students of the high school subject to the study had a negative recognition for the validity of the differentiated curriculum implementation. Lastly, This study checked the problems of implementing the curriculum differentiation through holistic curriculum.
