국문 초록

이 연구에서는 보완 ․ 대체의사소통(ACC)을 위한 어휘 선정과 구성에 있어 의사소통 상황 중심 접근 방법을 사용하여 핵심 어휘목록을 개발하였다. 국내외 문헌을 통해 보완대체의사소통 적용을 위한 기본적인 개념 및 실제 어휘조사 연구의 틀을 마련하기위한 어휘선택과 상황중심 어휘구성 전략들에 대하여 고찰하였다. 이러한 이론적 고찰에 근거하여 상황 중심 핵심 어휘를 추출하기 위해 특수학교의 교사와 학부터 55명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 설문조사에서는 연구자에 의해 제시된 41개의 의사소통 상황의 ACC 적용 필요성 정도를 질문하여 ACC 대상아동의 교사와 학부모가 인식하는 우선순위를 분석하였다. 또한 지역사회와 학교 및 가정의 각각의 환경에서 ACC가 요구되는 의사소통 상황에서 구체적으로 필요한 어휘들을 조사하여 총 어휘, 공통어휘 및 핵심 어휘를 분석하였고 아울러 장애특성을 나타내는 어휘를 정리하였다. 본 연구결과는 장애학생에게 ACC를 적용하고자 하는 현장의 교사 및 언어임상가들이 대상아동에게 적절한 어휘를 선정하는데 중요한 기초자료가 될 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to develop core vocabulary lists for nonverbal children who are potential AAC(Augmentative and Alternative Communication) users. Development of core vocabulary lists is based on communication contexts that include environments, partners and purpose of communication. To develop core vocabulary lists we surveyed 39 special education teachers who have experience to teaching nonverbal children and 16 parents have children with severe communication disabilities. Questionnaires on three different categories such as the priority order of communication context to use ACC system, frequently used words in each context, and ideas about ACC system development for the future. This survey results were analyzed to produce core vocabularies within and between communication contexts, to identify vocabularies for a specific kind of disability, and to collect ideas of teachers and parents. There were 1,428 common words identified from 5,465 total words generated. About 400 core vocabularies were developed in 41 communication contexts. Teacher's responses to the open-ended questions showed that they had more interests and needs for AAC system than before. Implications for development of core vocabulary list were discussed.
