국문 초록

  본 연구의 목적은 비정규 일자리 결정의 상태의존성(state dependence)을 확인하고, 남녀간 비정규직 비중의 격차를 설명하는데 상태의존성이 지니는 중요성을 살펴보려는 것이다. 한국노동패널(KLIPS)을 이용, 개인의 관측되는 이질성과 관측되지 않는 이질성을 모두 고려하여 비정규직의 결정모형을 동태적으로 추정한 결과, 현재 비정규직의 여부와 과거 비정규직 여부간에 강한 상관관계가 있음을 발견하였다. 특히 비정규직의 상태의존성은 남성에 비해 여성이 월등히 높으며, 특히 기혼여성과 저학력 여성의 비정규직 고착성이 더 높다는 점을 발견하였다. 또한, 남녀간 비정규직 비중의 격차를 분해한 결과, 비정규직 근로형태에 대한 남녀간 상태의존성의 차이가 남녀간 비정규직 비중의 격차를 50% 이상 설명한다는 점을 밝혔다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study is to identify the existence of state dependence of contingent work and to explain the gap in contingent work between males and females, focussing on the role of state dependence. We have used KLIPS (2002-2006) to estimate a dynamic model of determination of contingent work, with controlling not only worker"s observed characteristics but also unobserved heterogeneity. It is found that the current status of contingent work is closely related to the past status of contingent work. In particular, the state dependence is found to be more serious for females than males. Among females, married women with young children and women with low level of education are found to have strong dependence on contingent work. We have also decomposed the male-female gap in the proportion of contingent work and shown that male-female difference in state dependence on contingent work can explain more than 50% of the proportion of contingent work between males and females.
