국문 초록

  본 연구는 교직 여성화에 따른 여교사들의 행정직 진출에 대한 관심과 실제 행정직으로 증가하는 추세에 맞추어, 심층면담을 통해 초등학교 여교장의 교직 생애사를 고찰하여 여교사들에게 승진에 대한 동기부여 및 정보를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 인간을 교육하는 교육 현장을 기존의 양적인 접근방법으로 나타내기에는 한계가 있고, 그 중에서도 여교장에 대한 연구는 양적 분석만으로는 현상에 대한 깊은 이해를 이끌어내기 어렵다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 여교사가 전문적인 교직 사회에서 여교장으로까지 승진하는 과정 동안에 나타나는 다양한 현상과 경험들을 여교장 자신의 목소리와 용어로 묘사하는 내부자적인 관점으로 시작하였다. 이를 위한 연구의 대상은 30년간의 교사 생활을 거쳐 8년간 3개교에서 교장으로 근무한 E 교장으로 선정하였다. 자료 수집은 주로 심층면담으로 이루어졌고 학교교육 계획안과 각종 문서 자료, 교장 자신의 일지와 직접 저술한 저서 등도 포함하였다. 수집된 자료는 전사하여 컴퓨터로 폴더화하고 영역분석과 분류분석 단계를 거쳐 분석되었다. 분석 결과, 여교장의 교직 생애사는 교직 입문 이전과 이후 시절로, 승진 요인은 내적 요인과 외적 요인으로 나누어 논의되었다.

영문 초록

  The purpose of this study was to examine life history of the teaching profession of female elementary principal by in-depth interview. Existing quantitative approaches had limits of limits in capturing the every changing aspects of the human being. In particular, such approaches on particular female principals have not been able to create deep understanding concerning their experienced phenomena. Therefore, in this study, female teachers will be able to express their various experiencing of phenomenon that occurred in the process of being promoted up to the status of a female elementary principal from the society of teaching profession. This will allow them to describe their experiences in their own voices and terms.
  The subject was the female elementary principals who worked for three schools throughout eight years after experiencing teacher life as long as 30 years. The material was collected mainly by in-depth interviews which include a draft of the school education plan, various kinds of written materials, the principal"s diaries and writings etc. It was transcribed the collected materials and made folders by computers and to investigate the material by area analysis and classification analysis. The life history of the teaching profession of the female elementary principal was divided into before promotion and after promotion, while the promotion factors were divided in internal factors and external ones.
