영문 초록

  "Sal puri" is representative of Korea"s folk dance implying and expressing our folk-customs. As it has been flowing down with common people in Korea, "Sal puri" has rooted down on the ideology of pure shamanism which repulses an evil spirit and disaster but is brining a fortune. It has been transmitted to the experts in it"s field and beautiful artistically by them. Performance of "Sal puri" has done in the particular way along with the local characteristics.
  Even though "Kyo bang chung", which was related to "Sal puri", was replaced with "Kyun bun" in 1910, "Sal puri" was being handed down continuosly. In 1930s, a "Sal puri" directed by Han sungjun, an athority of folk dance, had it"s first debut in 1935.
  By Han sungjun, it started to form a performance style and the dance was more perfectly accomplished as the dancing skill and even it"s spiritual part were handed down to Han youngsuk, a human-cultural property and Han"s granddaughter. Thus, "Sal puri"s spirit and mind have been kept more and more vividly by those descendants and younger students.
  In this paper, we summarized theoretically the "Sal puri" which had been listed on references and focused mainly on finding the correspondent point between dancer and towel, during the motion of dancing which make us confirm life, breathing, and being alive, rather than arranging a dancing skill obtained from Han youngsuk"s "Sal puri". After fiding the correspondent point between dancer and towel, we examined spirit of dancing and ideal of the body by considering a "Oon ki" in the towal.
  From the result of investigating the "Oon ki" from towel technic based on experience from Han youngsuk"s "Sal puri" style, we were able to reach the following conclusions.
  1. Han youngsuk"s "Sal puri" style is a dance for woman implying high elegance with grace and moderate beauty.
  2. Some parts of her performance is not enough to get merried, but this is the way to attain a spiritual state of perfect selflessness by making body and mind as one through moderating action with controlling breath.
  3. In the flowing of towel technic, we saw mother nature"s gorgeous beauty with harmonious ratio, which has surpassed space time. The meaning of the towel is not "not exist" but "existence", it contains the ideal of oriental spirit which cna put together body and towel based on the thought of life.
