국문 초록

  자선이나 기부행위를 분석함에 있어 민간의 ‘동기’를 파악하는 것이 핵심이며, 이 문제에 대해 어떤 입장을 취하느냐에 따라 모형 및 분석 결과가 달라지기 때문에, 개인의 자선적 기부행위를 금전적 기부행위(기부금, 화폐적 기여행위)와 시간적 기부행위(자원봉사, 자선적 노동공급행위, 자발적 노동기여행위)의 관점에서 분석하고, 이 둘의 관계를 보이는 것을 시도하였다.
  본 실증 연구의 표본추출은 한국 갤럽에서 조사한 전국의 1,021명의 설문자료를 대상으로 하였다. 분석방법으로는 Tobit method를 사용하여 금전적 기부와 시간적 기부 간의 관계를 알아낼 수 있었다.
  시간적 기부금액은 가구의 소득에 따라 영향을 받지 않았으며, 기부금의 가격이 오르면, 기부를 줄이는 것으로 나타났다.
  시간적 기부 관점에서 금전적 기부는 보완재 관계(complementary goods)에 있는 것으로 나타났다. 여자인 경우 기부를 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 30～40대의 나이에 금전적 기부를 많이 하는 것으로 나타났으며, 결혼 유무와 자가 유무와 기부와는 관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 직업의 경우, 화이트칼라일수록 기부를 많이 한다고 보기 어려웠다. 그러나 교육 수준이 높을수록 시간적 기부를 많이 하는 것으로 나타났다. 시간적 기부행위에는 지역적 편차가 존재하지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

영문 초록

  For the economic analysis of private charitable contributions, the relationship between monetary contribution and time contribution was scrutinized and investigated in this study.
  Sampling object for this study was data gathered from 1021 persons who were surveyed by ‘Hankook Gallup’. The Tobit method was used as an economic analysis tool in order to understand the relationship between monetary contribution and time contribution.
  Total amount of the monetary and time contribution were not influence by personal or household income. As the price of giving increased, both contributions were reduced.
  From the perspective of charitable time contribution, the accept belief that contributor treats the time giving as complements for monetary giving. However, from the perspective of charitable monetary contribution, givers treats the monetary giving as independents for time giving. Charitable contributions of women were found to be higher than that of men and private contribution between the age of 30 and 50 is shown to be higher for the monetary contribution.
  Marital status and possession of their own house did not affect either type of contributions. White collar worker did not necessarily donate more than blue collar. However, time contribution increases with higher level of education received. There are regional variation for monetary contribution. Residents in metropolitan areas donate less than residents of rural areas.
