국문 초록

본 연구는 중국 조선족 기혼여성의 한국 이주경험을 노동력 제공자로서 한국 내 노동경험에 국한시키기보다는 그녀들이 한국에서 다양한 삶을 경험하면서 어떻게 자기의 정체성을 변화시켜 나가는지 사회적 맥락을 드러내고자 한다. 그녀들이 국경을 넘어서면서 겪는 경험들이 기존의 '사회주의 노동자' 정체성, 가족 내 성역할, 그리고 삶의 경험들과 어떻게 관련되고 충돌하고 변화하는지 중국과 한국의 사회적 맥락 속에서 살펴보고자 한다. 이를 통해 그녀들을 대상(object)이나 타자(other)가 아닌 구체적 실천을 통해 자신의 사회적 조건과 끊임없는 타협과 협상을 해 나가는 주체로, 사회적 행위자로 그려내고자 한다. 여성 이주노동자의 정체성과 행위성은 그들이 자신을 어떻게 위치시키고, 자신의 경험을 어떻게 해석하고 전망하는지를 중심으로 연구되어야 한다는 것이 본 연구자의 입장이다.

영문 초록

The emigration of married Korean-Chinese women to Korea is often criticized as the very thing that created problems in their children's education, thereby causing them to be stigmatized as being sexually immoral. Married Korean-Chines women in Korea live as individuals free from the social pressures imposed upon them to be 'a model wife and mother' and picture themselves as able parents who can support a family. While most of these women are working in the service industries and categorized as low-class workers, they understand that their experiences living and working in Korea are a temporary process to raise their social class and their income bracket in China. At the same time, they consider themselves 'civilized' people with international experiences that are fundamentally different form other people in China. For the married Korean-Chinese women, living and working in Korea is an experience of expanding oneself and struggling at the same time since they are under unfavorable conditions in Korea.
