Dolmen were one of the typical tomb systems of Bronze Age in prehistoric Korea. Various kinds of grave goods like Mumun potteries, Red potteries, polished stone daggers, polished stone arrowheads, polished stone axes, Gogok jades, and so on, were unearthed from dolmen. However, archaeological characteristics of the Bronze Age are typified as bronze artifacts. As a grave goods of dolmen, bronze artifacts would be reflected the social aspects of dolmen society. In this paper, I tried not only to examine and evaluate the social characteristics of bronze artifacts uncovered from dolmen as a grave goods, but also to clarify the social complexity of dolmen society as a stage of chiefdom society. The results of this study are as follow; First, bronze artifacts were rarely unexcavated from dolmen, as a tomb system of prehistoric Korea. The bronze materials were continually reused in their daily life at those time. That's because of the fact that bronze materials in Bronze Age had a scarcity value. Therefore, the excavation of bronze artifacts from dolmen were the reflection of social grave goods possessed by upper class who buried in dolmen. Second, bronze artifacts as a dolmen grave goods were included bronze buttons, bronze decorations, bronze rings, bronze bells, etc. However, most of grave goods from dolmen were kinds of armory goods such as Bipa style bronze daggers, Korean style bronze dagger, bronze axes, bronze arrowheads, and so on. These materials were related with military behaviors and assumed that people buried in dolmen must be participated in warfare activities. The armory goods uncovered from dolmen must be playing a symbolic role of military commander in their society. Third, the manufactures of bronze artifacts required high technology and highly trained technical experts. Especially, analysis of bronze technology comes to light quite advanced techniques with precise percentage of alloying components. Bronze specimens and molds indicate that manufacturing processes were not only standardized in size and shape, but they were also possibly made by bronze smiths or bronze specialists. this means that occupations in dolmen societies were already specialized. In summary, bronze materials of Bronze Age in prehistoric Korea had a scarcity value so that bronze grave goods were rarely uncovered. An armory goods were commonly excavated in dolmen. These assumed that people buried in dolmen must be related with warfare activities. An analyses of bronze artifacts comes to show that bronze materials were highly standardized in size and shape, and possibly made by bronze specialists. Therefore, we may assume that dolmen societies were already specialized in occupation and stratified in social status, and managed by ruling elites buried in dolmen.
