환경요인이 BSC 평가지표의 수용도에 미치는 영향

국문 초록

본 연구는 현행 평가지표체계와 새로운 평가시스템인 BSC평가지표체계에 초점을 맞추어 환경요인이 은행지점의 경영평가에 미치는 영향을 파악하였다. 이를 통하여 은행의 영업점에 대한 BSC의 적용가능성을 타진하고, 실질적으로 은행의 경영개선에 기여할 수 있는 BSC평가지표체계의 개발을 위한 기반을 제공하고자 하였다. 국내 5대 우량은행 중 한 은행의 관리자들을 대상으로 면접과 설문조사를 병행하여 자료를 수집하였다. 연구가설의 검증을 위해 경로 분석법을 사용하였다. 분석결과, 지점의 위치가 좋을수록 현행 평가지표체계에 대한 수용도가 높고, 지점의 상황이 나쁠수록 BSC평가지표체계에 대한 수용도가 높았다. 둘째, 지점의 성숙도 상황이 불리하지 않다고 생각하는 지점일수록 현행 평가지표체계에 대한 수용도도 높고 BSC 평가지표체계에 대한 수용도도 다른 집단보다 더 높았다. 셋째, 지점의 경쟁상황은 영향이 없었다. 넷째, 현재의 평가체계가 BSC 평가지표체계의 수용도에 미치는 영향은 거의 없었다. 이는 환경요인이 어떤 형태로든 불리하다고 생각하는 지점은 현행평가체계에 대한 수용도가 낮거나 BSC 평가체계에 대한 수용도가 높다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 구성원들의 불만을 최소화할 수 있는 BSC 평가체계를 도입하여 적용하는 것이 바람직하다.

영문 초록

This research purports to study the effects of environmental factors on the acceptability of performance indicators with the current performance evaluation systems and the BSC systems in the banking industry. Path analysis was used to analyze data collected by questionnaires, which were sent to 111 branch managers and high level operation officers with one of the five largest bank in Korea. A model of BSC performance indicators is suggested. Results of this study shows, first, that branch managers in superior locations prefer the current evaluation systems while those in inferior locations are ready to accept BSC performance evaluation indexes. Second, the more the managers regard target customers' maturity as advantages, the better they accept both the current evaluation systems and BSC evaluation systems. Third, competition does not make noticeable difference in acceptability between the current and BSC-based evaluation systems. Fourth, the current evaluation system has little effect on the acceptability of BSC performance indicators. In short, managers taking an advantage of environmental factors accept evaluation systems indifferently with the other managers, who show low acceptability of current performance evaluation systems and, thus, show high acceptability of BSC systems. Hence, it is desirable to introduce a BSC system that efficiently measures performance and, at the same time, minimizes dissatisfaction of the managers.
