영문 초록

The new eUCP brings the traditional documentary credit into the electronic commerce and permits payment to be made on electronic presentation. The eUCP is not a revision of the UCP. The UCP will continue to provided the industry with rules for paper letter of credit for many years. The eUCP is a supplement to the UCP that, when used in conjunction with the UCP, wil;l provide the necessary rules for the presentation of the electronic equivalents fo paper documents under letter of credit. The 12 Articles of the eUCP cover a range of issue including the format of electronic records, presentation, examination, Corruption of an Electronic Record after Presentation and Additional Disclaimer of Liability for Presentation of Electronic Record. The effective value of the eUCP will be increased as international rules which are used all over the world, provided that the problems mentioned above are amended and supplemented at the next version. In conclusion, banks and traders who are engaged in EC must understand the implications of new eUCP Articles to protect their interest and to avoid risk and disputes.
