영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between family functioning(family communication, family mood, and family conflict) and adolescents' psychological maladjustment and the relative importance of adolescents' psychological maladjustment to family functioning according to the sex and types of school. Subjects of this study were 944 high school students in Cheongju City. Data were analyzed by SPSSWIN with the method of frequency, t-test, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results of this study were as follows: 1. There were statistically significant differences in family functioning according to the adolescents' sex. Adolescent girls perceived better family communication than did boys. And, adolescent boys perceived higher levels of family conflict than did girls. 2. There were statistically significant differences in family functioning according to the types of school. Academic school students perceived better family mood than vocational school students. 3. Sex of the adolescents had affected on adolescents' psychological maladjustment. For adolescent boys, family mood and family conflict were predictors of psychological maladjustment. For adolescent girls, family communication, family mood, and family conflict were predictors of psychological maladjustment. 4. Types of school had affected on adolescents' psychological maladjustment. For academic school students, family communication, family mood, and family conflict were predictors of psychological maladjustment. For vocational school students, family mood and family conflict were predictors of psychological maladjustment.
