국문 초록

This study examined the sequential mediating effects of children’s emotion regulation and peer attachment on the relationship between family interactions and ego resilience. Data from 1,214 households that participated in the 7th, 9th, 10th, and 12th waves of the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) were analyzed. Model 6 of the Process Macro was used to examine the sequential mediating effect. The significance of this mediating effect was verified using bootstrapping. The results were as follows: First, family interactions in early childhood were found to have a direct effect on ego resilience in the upper grades of elementary school. Second, in the relationship between family interaction in early childhood and children’s ego resilience in the upper grades of elementary school, the mediating effect of emotion regulation in the lower grades of elementary school was not found: however, the mediating effect of peer attachment was significant. Third, regarding the relationship between family interactions in early childhood and ego resilience in the upper grades of elementary school, sequential mediating effects of emotion regulation and peer attachment in the lower grades of elementary school appeared. These results can provide basic data on the efforts that should be made at home and in the educational field to develop children’s ego resilience, which is an important factor for children to adapt to various environments and live happy lives.
