인공지능교육 정책에 대한 비판적 담론 분석

국문 초록

이 연구는 인공지능교육 정책이 어떻게 당연한 것으로 구성되는지에 대한 문제의식으로 Fairclough의 비판적 담론 분석을 통해 인공지능교육 정책의 주요 담론은 무엇이며, 그러한 주요 담론이 형성하는 담론의 질서가 무엇인지, 그리고 이는 어떠한 전략으로 정당화되는지에 대한 탐구를 수행하였다. 분석 결과, ‘대전환 위기 속 AI영웅 담론’, ‘AI인재부족 및 AI교육기회부족 담론’, ‘AI‧SW/SW‧AI교육 담론’의 세 가지 주요 담론이 확인되었다. 처음 두 담론은 인공지능교육 정책의 필요성을 정당화는 담론이었으며, 세 번째 담론은 인공지능교육 정책의 정체성에 해당하는 담론이었다. ‘대전환 위기 속 AI영웅 담론’은 ‘급박하고 거대한 변화에 직면’의 오버워딩 및 리워딩 전략과, 변화를 심각한 위기로 표현하고 AI를 만능해결사로 표현하는 긍정과 부정 대비 전략, 그리고 여러 문서 간 반복과 장르적 전환의 반복을 거치는 텍스트적 및 담론적 실천과, 공리주의와 기술중심주의가 반영된 사회적 실천을 통해 ‘AI > 인간’이라는 담론의 질서를 형성하고 있었다. ‘AI인재부족 및 AI교육기회부족 담론’은 임의적 기준에 따른 AI인재 및 AI교육기회에 대한 ‘부족’의 가정, 혜택과 불이익/배제의 어휘 선택 배치를 통한 긍정대 부정 대비 전략과 여러 문서 간 반복과 장르적 전환의 반복을 거치는 텍스트적 및 담론적 실천과, 경제주의와 평등주의 및 신자유주의 교육 관점이 반영된 사회적 실천을 통해 ‘국가 > 국민’이라는 담론의 질서를 형성하고 있었다. ‘AI‧SW/SW‧AI교육 담론’은 ‘인공지능교육=AI교육’의 기호적 표현이 아닌, ‘인공지능교육=AI‧SW/SW‧AI교육’으로의 기호적 표현 반복 전략(오버워딩 및 리워딩)과 여러 문서 간 반복과 장르적 전환의 반복을 거치는 텍스트적 및 담론적 실천, 그리고 교육 엘리트주의의 반영으로 비초등교사와 비정보교사에 대한 직접적인 제약이 이루어지는 사회적 실천으로 인해 ‘초등교사 및 정보교사 > 비초등교사 및 비정보교사’의 담론의 질서를 형성하고 있었다. 이러한 분석 과정을 통해 인공지능교육 정책은 ‘반복’과 ‘도 아니면 모의 극단적 선택 구조’ 전략으로 인공지능교육을 당연한 것으로 구성하고 있음을 확인하였으며, 이를 토대로 보다 포용적인 인공지능교육의 정책적 변화가 필요함을 주장하였다.

영문 초록

This study employs Fairclough’s critical discourse analysis to investigate the main discourses within artificial intelligence (AI) education policy and the resulting order of discourse. The analysis identified three primary discourses: ‘AI hero discourse in the midst of a great transition crisis’, ‘Discourse on lack of AI talent and lack of AI education opportunities’, and ‘AI‧SW/SW‧AI education discourse’. The first two discourses justify the necessity of AI education policy, while the third pertains to the identity of AI education policy. The ‘AI hero discourse in the midst of a great transition crisis’ uses strategies of overwording and rewording around the concept of facing urgent and enormous change, a positive versus negative contrast depicting change as a serious crisis with AI as a universal solution, and the cross-examination of various documents. This discourse establishes an order of ‘AI > Human’ through textual and discursive practices involving repetition and genre conversion, reflecting utilitarianism and technocentrism. The ‘Discourse on lack of AI talent and lack of AI education opportunities’ assumes a lack of AI talent and education based on arbitrary standards. It employs positive versus negative contrast strategies through selective vocabulary placement regarding benefits and disadvantages/exclusions, forming an order of ‘nation > people’ through repetitive and genre-converting textual and discursive practices, influenced by economicism, egalitarianism, and neoliberal education perspectives. The ‘AI‧SW/SW‧AI education discourse’ uses symbolic repetition, not merely as ‘artificial intelligence education = AI education’ but as ‘artificial intelligence education = AI‧SW/SW‧AI education’. This involves textual and discursive practices through repetition and genre switching across multiple documents, and social practices that impose direct restrictions on non-elementary and non-information teachers, reflecting educational elitism. This results in an order of ‘elementary and information teacher > non-elementary and non-information teacher’. These findings reveal how AI education policies are framed and the implications of such discourses for the educational community.
