국내 일의 의미 연구 동향 분석: 국내 학술지 게재 논문을 대상으로

국문 초록

본 연구는 지금까지 국내에서 진행된 ‘일의 의미’ 연구 동향을 분석하고, 그동안 국내 문헌에서 주의 깊게 다루지 않았던 일의 의미 개념 및 각 문헌에서 나타나는 개인, 직무, 조직, 사회적 맥락에 따른 일의 의미를 살펴보고자 하였다. PRISMA 지침에 따라최종 선정된 107편 논문을 통한 국내 일의 의미 연구 동향 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 일의 의미 연구는 2007년 질적 연구를 시작으로 매년 꾸준히 증가하다가 2020년이후 연간 두 자릿수 이상의 연구물 수를 유지하며 지금까지 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 그동안 다양한 학문 분야의 72개 학술지에 연구물이 게재되었고 많은 연구에서 선행변인과 결과 변인으로 사용되는 등 학술적 관심 또한 점점 높아지고 있다. 둘째, 일의 의미에 대한 관점은 크게 심리학적 관점과 사회학적 관점으로 나뉘는데 심리학적 관점은 개인이나 직무 수준뿐만 아니라 조직 수준과 사회적 수준까지 모든 영역에 걸쳐 직접적으로 나타난다. 셋째, 개인은 환경과 사회적 맥락의 영향을 받는다는 사회학적 관점 또한 개입 수준의 차이만 있을 뿐 모든 수준에 걸쳐 잠재적이거나 직접적으로 영향을 미친다. 이러한 분석 결과와 논의를 바탕으로 향후 일의 의미 이론 및 개념 정립을 위한 논의의 필요성과 연구 방향을 제언했다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze the trends of 'meaning of work' research conducted in Korea so far, and to examine the concept of meaning of work, which has not been carefully addressed in the Korean literature, and the meaning of work according to individual, job, organization, and social context in each literature. Based on the trend analysis of the 107 articles selected according to the PRISMA guidelines, the following research trends were found. First, research on the meaning of work has been active, starting with the qualitative study in 2007 and increasing steadily every year since then, with the number of studies per year remaining in double digits since 2020. In the meantime, research has been published in 72 journals across various disciplines, and has been used as antecedent and outcome variables in many studies, gaining increasing academic attention. Second, perspectives on the meaning of work are broadly divided into psychological and sociological perspectives, with psychological perspectives directly affects all levels, not only at the individual or job level, but also at the organizational and societal levels. Third, the sociological perspective, in which individuals are influenced by their environment and social context, also has a potential or direct impact across all levels, with only a difference in the level of intervention. Based on these findings and discussions, we suggest future research directions and the need for discussion on the theory and conceptualization of meaning of work.
