중소형교회 공간활용을 통한 교회평생교육에 관한 사례연구: N교회를 중심으로

국문 초록

연구배경 : 우리나라 다수의 교회에서는 교회 공간을 종교기관이라는 본질의 기능을 수행하는 곳으로 활용할 뿐만 아니라 성도나 지역사회 주민들을 대상으로 사역, 친교, 배움의 공동체 교육을 운용하는 공간으로도 활용하고 있다. 지역사회에 세워진 교회의 다양한 역할을 요구받는 오늘날 교회 평생교육을 적용하는 중소형교회를 통해 교회 공간활용의 필요성을 부각하고자 한다. 연구목적 : 본 연구는 평생교육기관으로서의 교회에 대한 이해와 교회공간을 교회평생교육에 활용하는 방법을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법 : 교회공간을 통해 교회평생교육을 활용한 중소형교회인 N교회의 현장방문과 인터뷰, 인터넷과 SNS 자료를 통해 사례로 적용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과 : 교인들의 신앙 성장과 삶의 질 향상, 지역사회와의 소통과 교류에 긍정적인 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 중소형교회 공간활용의 중요성과 다양화, 그리고 교회와 지역사회의 상생을 위한 방안이 제시되었다. 시사점 : 중소형교회가 공간활용을 통한 교회평생교육 실천과 활동으로 지역 어느 곳에든 존재하는 평생교육의 현장이요. 평생교육기관으로서 준비되고 활용되어 교회의 변화와 지역주민들과의 교류에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있는 시사점이 도출되어 교회의 양적성장과 교회에 대한 지역주민들의 긍정적인 인식전환과 교회의 공간활용을 통한 교회평생교육의 활성화에 필요한 기초자료 제공에 도움을 주는데 있다.

영문 초록

Background : Many churches in Korea use church space as a place to perform the essential function of a religious institution, as well as a space to operate community education for ministry, friendship, and learning for saints and community residents. We want to highlight the need to use church space through small and medium-sized churches that apply church lifelong education today, which are required to play various roles of churches established in local communities. Purpose : This study aims to understand the church as a lifelong education institution and explore ways to utilize church space for church lifelong education. Methodology / Approach : The study analyzed the case of N Church, a small and medium-sized church that utilizes church lifelong education through church space. The analysis was conducted through on-site visits, interviews, and internet and SNS data. Findings / Conclusions : It was found that it had a positive effect on the growth of faith, improvement of the quality of life, and communication and exchange with local communities. The importance and diversification of the space use of small and medium-sized churches, and measures for the coexistence of churches and communities were suggested. Implications : It is a site of lifelong education where small and medium-sized churches exist anywhere in the region due to the practice and activities of lifelong church education through space utilization. It is intended to help provide basic data necessary for the quantitative growth of the church, the positive change of local residents' perception of the church, and the revitalization of church lifelong education through the use of space by preparing and utilizing it as a lifelong education institution.
