사회적 소수자 내담자가 지각한 상담자의 다문화 지향과 상담 성과의 관계: 작업동맹과 실제관계의 매개효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 사회적 소수자 정체성을 가진 내담자가 지각한 상담자의 다문화 지향이 작업동맹 및 실제관계를 통해 상담 성과에 미치는 영향을 확인하였다. 이를 위해 사회적 소수자 정체성을 지닌 동시에 개인상담을 받은 경험이 있는 성인 내담자들을 대상으로 상담자의 문화적 겸손 및 문화적 기회, 작업동맹, 실제관계, 상담 성과, 그리고 내담자의 문화적 정체성을 조사하였다. 총 107명의 자료가 최종 분석에 사용되었으며, 연구 결과는 다음과 같다, 첫째, 내담자가 지각한 상담자의 문화적 겸손과 문화적 기회는 상담 성과에 각각 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 문화적 겸손과 문화적 기회가 상담 성과에 미치는 영향을 작업동맹과 실제관계가 각각 매개하였다. 즉, 사회적 소수자 정체성을 지닌 내담자를 향한 상담자의 다문화 지향이 작업동맹과 실제관계를 통해 상담 성과에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 본 연구는 한국에서 다문화 지향이 상담 과정 및 성과에 미치는 영향을 경험적으로 검증함으로써 다문화 지향이 한국 상담에도 유용하게 적용될 수 있으며, 나아가 국내 상담 교육 및 수련 과정에서 다문화 지향이 적용될 필요가 있음을 확인하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the effects of counselors’ multicultural orientation on counseling outcome via working alliance and real relationship based on the perceptions of marginalized clients. Participants who identified themselves as social minorities and had individual counseling experiences completed an online survey packet including counselors’ cultural humility and cultural opportunities, working alliance, real relationship, counseling outcome and their cultural identities. Data were collected from 107 participants and the findings are as follows: First, cultural humility and cultural opportunities affected counseling outcome. Second, working alliance and real relationship mediated the relationship between cultural humility and counseling outcome, and the relationship between cultural opportunities and counseling outcome, respectively. In short, counselors’ multicultural orientation toward minoritized clients has positive influences on counseling outcome by establishing working alliance and real relationship. This study implies that the framework of multicultural orientation could be beneficial to the counseling practice, counseling education and training in Korea.
