초등 사회과 탐구질문 중심 수업에 대한 실행연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 초등 사회과를 바탕으로 탐구질문 중심 수업 방안을 모색하는 데에 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 개념기반 교육과정, 빅 아이디어, 핵심질문과 탐구질문이 교육과정과 수업에서 어떠한 의미를 갖는지에 대해 탐색하였다. 그리고 실행연구를 통해 연구자가 개발한 수업에 대해 1차 실행, 중간 성찰로 수업을 재계획하였다. 이후 2차 실행과 분석으로 탐구질문 중심 수업 방안에 관한 시사점을 논하였다. 본 연구의 과정을 분석한 결과, 빅 아이디어와 탐구질문은 핵심질문을 깊이 있게 이해하는 데 비계가 되고, 두 차례의 실행연구로 학습자의 사회과에 대한 인식에서 변화가 있음이 드러났다. 이에 대한 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 습득해야 할 지식과 과정을 빅 아이디어에 근거하여 구조화해야 하고, 탐구질문에서 드러나는 사고의 수준을 위계화해야 한다. 둘째, 탐구질문을 만들 때, 교육내용의 우선순위를 학습자 스스로가 인식할 수 있어야 한다.

영문 초록

This research aims to explore instructional approaches centered around inquiry-based learning in elementary social studies. To achieve this goal, the study investigates the significance of Concept-Based Curriculum, Big Idea, Essential Questions, and Inquiry Questions in the curriculum and classroom context. Through action research, the researcher conducted an initial implementation of the developed curriculum, reflected on the outcomes, and restructured the curriculum accordingly. After the second phase of implementation and analysis, the researcher deliberates on insights regarding inquiry-based instructional approaches. Analyzing the study's progression revealed that the Big Idea and inquiry-based questions serve as scaffolds for a deeper understanding of essential questions. Two rounds of action research showcased shifts in learners' perceptions of social studies. Consequently, the conclusions drawn from this research are twofold: Firstly, structuring acquired knowledge and processes based on the Big Idea is essential, while hierarchizing thinking levels evident in inquiry questions is crucial. Secondly, when formulating inquiry questions, learners should be able to recognize the prioritization of educational contents on themselves.
