교사가 인식한 다문화가정 부모의 유아교육기관과의 관계: 교육공동체 구현을 위한 시사점

국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 유아교육공동체 구현을 장기적 목적으로 유아교사가 인식한 다문화가정 부모의 유아교육기관과의 관계 특성을 알아보는 것이다. 이에 농촌과 도시 지역 유치원과 어린이집 교사 18명을 대상으로, 담임학급의 다문화가정 부모의 유아교육기관과의 관계에 대한 인식을 알아보기 위해 개별 또는 2인 심층면담을 실시하였다. 면담을 위한 질문은 부모 참여도, 신뢰도, 소속감 및 교류, 소통 등의 네 가지 면담준거에 대해 개방식 질문으로 구성하였다. 연구 결과, 부모들은 교육기관 행사와 활동에 참여하는 강한 실천 의지와 소극적 태도를 동반, 교사와 기관에 대한 신뢰에는 양면성을 그리고 교육기관 자랑에 앞장서는 소속감을 가지고 있지만 끼리끼리의 부모 간 교류의 특징, 마지막으로 반복적인 “네네, 알겠습니다.”의 모호한 소통이 있음을 교사들은 인식하고 있었다. 이를 바탕으로 유아교육공동체 실현과 정착을 위한 교사와 기관의 역할에 대한 시사점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of the relationship between parents of multicultural families and early childhood education institutions from the perspectives of teachers in order to achieve the long-term goal of implementing early childhood education community. Individual or in-depth interviews were conducted with 18 early childhood teachers both in rural and urban areas. The open interview questions were based on four categories: parental involvement, trust, membership and exchange, and communication. As results, the teachers perceived that parents had strong sense of willingness but passive attitude to participate in educational events and activities, had trust ambivalence both towards teachers and institutions, had a sense of belonging to be a member of institutions and parents’ gatherings, and had vague communication styles using “Yes, I see” repetitively. Implications for settlement and utilization of early childhood education communities were discussed.
