국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 10세 미만 아동의 자위행동 양상을 인구통계학적 변인과 관련하여 살펴보고, 선행연구에서 자위행동과 관련성이 있다고 제안한 변인들의 영향력을 탐색해보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 우리나라 만 3-9세 아동 652명을 대상으로 자위행동, 행동문제, 가족생활사건 스트레스, 역기능적 양육에 대해 측정하였다. 자료의 분석은 기술통계 분석, 상관관계 분석, 단계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과를 요약하면, 첫째, 한 가지 이상의 자위행동이 한번 이상이라도 관찰된 경우는 전체 아동의 16.4%였으며, 집에 있을 때 성적 부위를 만지는 행동이 가장 많았다. 남아가 여아보다 자위행동을 더 많이 하는 경향이 있었으며 연령에 따라서는 만 5세에서 가장 많은 양상을 보였다. 둘째, 아동의 자위행동은 행동문제들과 높은 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 가족생활사건 스트레스 및 역기능적 양육과도 유의한 상관을 보였다. 셋째, 단계적 회귀분석 결과, 미취학 아동의 자위행동에는 주의집중문제, 수면문제, 위축, 강압적 통제가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 취학 아동의 자위행동에는 사고문제와 과보호, 연령의 순서로 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 마지막으로 연구결과를 바탕으로 아동의 자위행동을 이해하고 대처할 때 고려해야할 점을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to examine the pattern of masturbation in general children under the age of 10 in Korea in relation to demographic variables and explore the effect of variables suggested to be related to childhood masturbation in previous studies. 652 children aged 3-9 were measured for masturbation, behavioral problems, stress from family life events, and parents' dysfunctional parenting. For data analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson's correlation analysis, and stepwise multiple regression were performed. To summarize the results of this study, first, 16.4% of Korean children showed masturbation, and most of them touched sexual parts when they were at home. Boys tended to masturbate more than girls, and at the age of five, they were found to have the most masturbation. Second, it was found that Korean children's masturbation behavior was significantly correlated with behavioral problems other than somatic complaints. It was also highly correlated with family life events stress, and dysfunctional parenting. Third, as a result of step-by-step regression analysis, preschoolers' masturbation was significantly affected by attention problems, sleep problems, withdrawal, and parental coercive control, and masturbation in school-aged children was influenced considerably by thought problems, parental overprotection and age. Based on the results, we discussed what to consider when understanding and coping with children's masturbation.
