작품 ｢나선｣에 나타난 가야금의 확장된 주법 및 수를 활용한 작곡법 연구

국문 초록

21세기는 지식정보사회로서 디지털화되었다. 지식의 경계가 허물어진 현재, 우리는 어디서든 높은 수준의 지식을 쉽게 접할 수 있다. 이러한 변화는 작곡에서도 기존과는 다른 새로운 방법이 필요한 시점인 것을 의미한다. 본 연구는 소재의 확장을 통한 작곡법의 새로운 가능성을 탐구한다. 2018년 작곡, 2020년 개작된 클라리넷, 첼로, 25현 가야금을 위한 작품 ｢나선｣은 제임스 프레이저의 나선형 환상을 소재로 한다. 그림의 배경 패턴을 수열로 치환하고 인지의 변화에서 생성되는 다양한 특징을 수열 사이에 접목시킨다. 수를 사용하는 것은 디지털화된 현재에 대한 반영으로 단순화, 객관화된 정보가 음악을 통해 어떻게 구현되는지 탐구하며 논리성, 체계성을 구성하여 유기성을 만들어 낸다. 또한 다른 악기의 현대주법을 접목한 25현 가야금의 새로운 주법들을 소개한다. 개량된 25현 가야금은 음역 내 모든 반음과 화음을 빠르게 연주할 수 있어 서양악기와 견주어봐도 손색이 없다. 새로운 주법을 작품에 소개함으로써 많은 작곡가가 국악기에 관심을 가지고 작곡하기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The 21st century has been digitized as a knowledge and information society. Now that the boundaries of knowledge have been broken down, we can easily access a high level of knowledge anywhere. This change means that even in com- position, a new method different from the previous one is needed. This study explores the new possibilities of com- position through the expansion of materials. Composed in 2018, revised in 2020, ｢Naseon｣[Nasŏn] for clarinet, cello, and 25-strings Kayagŭm (伽倻琴) is based on the Fraser spiral illusion from his study. The background pattern of the picture is replaced by a sequence and various characteristics generated by cognitive changes are grafted between the sequences. The use of digit is a reflection of the digitized present, exploring how simplified and objectified information is implemented through music, and constructing logic and systematicity to create organicity. It also introduces 25-strings Kayagŭm that incorporate modern styles of other instruments. The improved 25-strings Kayagŭm can quickly play all the semitones and chords in the range, making it comparable to Western instruments. By introducing a new technique to the work, it is expected that many composers will be interested in and compose Korean traditional instruments.
